Thought I'd share:
I've been a cad user since 1989. I use it for architecture, construction detailing, and graphic design/ advertising.
Recently (last 3 mos), I've learned to use Sketchup. I was very skeptical; wasn't sure it was accurate, couldn't imagine it could handle the work load, image processing, that my traditional programs could. Sketchup was hard at first...really hard, since it was so different from "V....ks", "T...add, it made me uncomfortable.
I recently thought I would change from "V...ks", to "A...add", based on the pricing, thinking I needed only a drafting program, and Sketchup. Turns out "A...add" was more clunky, complicated, and keyboard reliant than I could handle.
So here we are...wasn't sure I would say this, but Sketchup has turned out to be a godsend. I can't imagine drawing any other way on a computer. I'm ditching the other software and putting all my effort into modeling with Sketchup.
To those who are not sure, indecisive, scared that Sketchup isn't as professional, accurate as others, not to worry. Get back to having fun drawing on the computer.
Jump on...I am!
