    • RE: How to import a model dazstudio (obj) in Sketchup?

      Hello ThaiI, am not able to successfully import an obj Michael 4 (model of dazstudio) in Sketchup.

      Have you managed to import a sketchup model with texture in?

      If yes, can you list me the exact settings?

      I am a beginner with Daz and I can not find how to make sure if the mapping UVmaps are not stacked (overlappying).

      Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english ...

      So if I understand Dazstudio and sketchup are not compatible with export | import.

      Dazstudio to Sketchup :
      mapping = not good
      Polygon = OK

      Sketchup to Dazstudio:
      mapping = OK
      Polygon = OK

      We found that the teleportation has a significant impact on skin.
      Use teleportation with moderation!

      Hello TIG,
      I did some test and I got a weird result.
      Here is the path I have traveled:
      In the software Dazstudio - I clicked 'send to Hexagon'
      In the software Hexagone - I exported my model file 'Carrera' (.car)
      In the software Carrera - I export the model in OBJ file.
      In the software Setchup - I imported the OBJ file with Fluidimporter

      WOW! the road is long!

      The problem is that the skin material is not placed correctly and that the eyes are absent.

      Here is a picture that shows the result one time in sketchup.

      I checked and the sides are not reversed.

      Here are the files that are created after an OBJ export from a Dazstudio

    • RE: How to import a model dazstudio (obj) in Sketchup?

      My model is imported into sketchup without skin texture. It is all white.
      The tool texture plugin thearender (my photo rendering software) detects the name of the texture when I click on different part of the body of the model. Once imported into thearender, the model is white ...

      When I import the obj from Dazstudio, I get:

      -A folder containing jpg (set of textures of skin)
      -A. MTL file
      -A. OBJ file

      Here are my settings Fluidimporter:
      -Units = Meters
      -Flip-YZ = No
      -Triangulate-polygons = Yes
      -Ignore material-library = no

      Thank you for helping me to solve problem

    • How to import a model dazstudio (obj) in Sketchup?

      Hello, I would like to import 3d human model created with DAZ STUDIO software in SKETCHUP PRO 8.

      DAZ STUDIO (http://www.daz3d.com/) exports in Wavefront (OBJ).

      I downloaded Fluidimporter (http://www.fluidray.com/downloads), a free plugin that imports OBJ very quickly.

      After reading this post ( viewtopic.php?f=323&t=20584 ) I installed the plugins (obj_importer.rb) and (Jim Foltz's' obj_import.rb)

      Problem: My textures are not ... They are not always there when I'm rendering with THEARENDER ...

      I need help

      Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english

    • RE: Importation d'OBJ dans SKETCHUP :Textures absantes...

      Rien ne fonctionne...
      Les matières ne sont pas appliquées dans sketchup.

      J'ai installé l'ajout de TIG (obj_importer.rb)au plugin de JIM (Jim Foltz's 'obj_import.rb)

      Les modèles polygones sont de super qualité mais le tout est blanc comme neige... (même en inversant les faces ça ne fonctionne pas...)

      Avec mon logiciel de rendus Thearender, qui a un plugin dans Sketchup, je vois le nom des matières quand je clic sur les différentes partie du corps du modèle mais la matériel n'apparaît pas... Il indique un signe " ne pas "(cercle et barre oblique).

      Je me disais que comme les matières étaient nommées... qu'il s'agissait d'un raccourci et qu'une fois le rendu lancé ils apparaîtraient dans thearender mais non...

      J'ai lu qu'il pourrait y avoir un problème avec le fichier .mtl (si je comprends bien, ce fichier est un indicateur des trajets pour accéder aux textures qui indique également l'endroit où les appliquer.)généré par DAZSTUDIO... Mais quand il s'agit de jouer dans les codes je n'ai aucune bases dans se domaine...

      Suis-je sur une bonne piste ou bien dois-je rediriger mes recherches?

      Humblement vĂ´tre!

    • Importation d'OBJ dans SKETCHUP :Textures absantes...

      Bonjour, je désire importer des personnages créés avec le logiciel DAZ STUDIO dans SKETCHUP PRO 8.

      DAZ STUDIO (http://www.daz3d.com/) exporte entre autre en format Collada (DAE) et en format Wavefront (OBJ).

      Les fichiers DAE sont extrêmement long à ouvrir dans SKP et la qualité des textures laisse à désirer...

      Je me retourne donc vers le format OBJ.

      Je télécharge Fluidimporter (http://www.fluidray.com/downloads), un plugin gratuit qui importe les OBJ très rapidement.

      Problème: Mes textures n'y sont pas... Elles ne sont toujours pas là quand je fais des rendus avec THEARENDER...

      Quoi faire? J'ai lu que le fichier .MTL pouvais ne pas bien indiquer les trajets et indications concernant les textures... C'est lĂ  que je me perds.

      Quelqu'un peut-il m'aider?

      Merci d'avance
