    • RE: What happened to my construction components??

From the component library. The "Concrete" and "Wood Framing" components are no longer in the native "Construction" category in the library.

    • What happened to my construction components??

I started working on a framing plan today & noticed that several of the construction components (concrete footings/foundation, framing, etc is no longer there 😕. Have they been moved to another category? In a hidden file?

And what, if any, framing plugin do you use/recommend?

      Thanks

    • RE: What's your beginners tip?

Create and use an easily readable layering system

      Double/triple check working layer OFTEN

learn to group & use components

Learn shortcuts (print them & keep at workstation until they become muscle memory)

Buy Nick Sonders book "Sketchup and Layout for Architecture"

    • RE: Changing component options in bulk

Components downloaded from window manufacturer. And placed in the model. So both definitions and instances, i suppose.

The component optionswindow has 20-25 fields (brick mould casing, jamb depth, cladding material, cladding color)..some are fillable fields, some are drop down tabs. So to answer your question, the desired change of material is applied by selecting the color from a drop down tab.

No, they are all the same material. Basically the same component in different sizes.

The "new material" is limited to one of 6 preset colors (drop down tab)

The tl/dr of my post: I have 34 windows (manufacturer-built components) from the 3D wh in my model. I want to change the color of the exterior trim (editable component in dialogue box) in one step versus clicking each individual window.

      Thanks!

You need to provide more details...
When you say 'components', do you mean component-instances [i.e. those placed in the model or component-definitions [i.e those in the components-browser] ?
Also, is the material you want to change applied to the instance as paint, or is it applied to faces within the component itself ?
Do these things have different materials ?
Do you already have the [new] material you want to use ?

Once this is resolved, then perhaps we can come up with a strategy to change what you want in one [or at least a few] steps...

    • Changing component options in bulk

I want to change a value of a group of components, in this case the color of window exterior. Is there a way to change JUST the color (leaving size, model, other window values alone) value field for all components in the model? Other than clicking/changing individually, copy/paste...

Integrity Ultrex windows are the components I'm editing.
