Really nice. If you could do the "bloom" on the water and the stone (maybe even more on the stone, but leave the cantilever bright, I'll bet that would look even better.

RE: The biggest rendering in Croatia ( no Kidding;-)
Wowzers. I keep looking over at my little inkjet printer and imagining such a project coming out of it.
I looked at it and had a wild idea. The corner blocks look like the teeth of a zipper. Next time you do one of these , maybe you could play that up with a zipper pull and teeth on the fold down. J

RE: Using SketchUp as an art medium
Is there no end to what you can do in SU?
I'm especially impressed with the ones which you can orbit around and look at and through from many angles.

RE: Marin Mountain Bike (WIP)
You keep blowing my mind. As you can guess from my handle, I've spent a lot of time on bicycles and working on bicycles. (can't ride any more due to bad knees. )
Your model wants me to make up a custom lugged frame in SU. The brazers deserve some attention too.

RE: Marin Mountain Bike (WIP)
Totally awesome. I've spent a lot of time looking at bicycles and you are hitting everything right on. Of course, you can only get a reflection on a tire if you use ArmourAll on it and that's not good for the rubber.
Those welds are masterful, especially making them slightly inconsistent to show that it is hand work. Wow.

RE: New House Concept
A neat concept. When I saw the first pictures, I thought it might be a dormitory or other communal living arrangement. A nice way of having your own space without being separate from others.

RE: WORSHIP series
Art is all about layers of meaning. This piece has lots of layers. Now I think I understand one of the sets of layers.
Regardless of the layers, it's a nice painting and your technique may lead to more and more interesting ideas.

SchreiberBike it wasn't even real... this is just a representation. i reworked a 3ds model shared by friend and used it as inspiration. then i studied the lighting effect in vray and used sketchup in finding a good viewpoint. after rendering then i copied the angles and lighting effects but changing the material and texture.
I am confused.
Do you mean the jpg you posted above at http://www.sketchucation.com/scf/viewtopic.php?p=33575#p33575 is a rendering including the easel and the background?
When you said "the media i used was oil paint, the media size is 60cm X 80cm", you meant a Photo shop interpretation of oil paint?
Or do you mean to say that the statuette isn't real, but that it was modeled and rendered, then you painted with real brushes and real oils on real canvas a version of the rendering?
Like I said, I'm confused.

RE: WORSHIP series
I wish I could see it up close in "real life". I get the feeling that I'm missing a lot by seeing a picture of a picture (of a picture).

RE: WORSHIP series
That's a leap to a whole new way of thinking, to go from a rendering to a painting. Sure beats arranging fruit in a bowl and shining lights on it. Hope it works for you.

RE: Paul Russamฮs Church and Indigo
I'm blown away, both by the SU model and by the renderings. This was so good I showed my wife.

RE: Real estate work
Blows me away, great graphics. On the first one, are the trees leaning to the right because of prevailing winds or is that an artifact?

RE: It's just like a mini mall
Really good. The only thing that jumps out at me is the feathering on the edges. It has a different effect depending on the background. It's great in the sky, but looks odd on the blacktop.

RE: It's just like a mini mall
The second one looked best to me. The only thing that jumped out to me was the flag. Didn't look quite real.
Just what the world needs one more mini-mall .

RE: Modular fixtures
I can't answer your questions, but Paul Russam suggested a technique using layers where one layer contains placeholders and another contains the detailed geometry. Something like that may help you. His description is near the end of this thread.

It makes very efficient use of memory when you don't need the detail, then you can have the detail when you need it. -

You can check out my youtube videos for a glimpse at how I work with a tablet and SU.
Wow, that is educational. I've got a long way to go. Your artistic and anatomical knowledge is impressive.

RE: No Render required
Totally cool. There's a real ominous feeling to those, especially the hook hanging from the first building. "If the building is in such disrepair, why would there be that hook still be there? Hope I'm not going to be hanging from it."

RE: Completed project in Ireland
Very nice. Showing the door opening direction as a graphic on the floor is a great idea. Probably obvious to you clever folks, but I hadn't figured it out.
