Hi Greyhead, and all that replied!
Nice picture, Grey. Unfortunately, the link only leads me to a purely blank page!
Gaius, I will most certainly take a look at some of those links.
And, remus, I will try that plugin.

Hi! Problem constructing shapes from curves
Hello. New here.
Absolutely torn to pieces on an issue. On more issues, really. Took me too long to come here, half because encountering problems in SketchUp demotivated me. But now then! To construct hulls - one of several pains.
I want to create, as seen by this simplistic model, say a boat hull. The port side will show rectangular approaches, while the starboard side should show my best guesses as to how to start creating a hull. Now, do not mind the fact that the approach is simplistic. What I care the most about is how to make the middle section create a 'wall' (ideally infinite-edged, so as to be smooth).
The two curves that go perpendicular to the length of the hull, are to create a wall between them. This would complete the mid-section of the hull. However, I can only find that I can use the incremental edges, and putting lines between these to create a rather disgusting look. This is shown by the three uppermost such panels.
There is also the issue about creating the same effect for the aft and the fore. For the aft, the program would have to work out an average function (which raises the question if the program can be made to use a user-made function with regards to spread). Ditto for the fore; at a higher height, the hull would curve differently than it would when the value of z drew closer to zero.
I will be very thankful for any help. If I need elaborate on anything, clarify or similar, simply say so.
