As a 'Macintosh' this thread has frightened me. Me and my shotgun will be on the lookout for anyone who might try to serve me papers! I'll make applesauce out of them before they'll take away my name. πŸ˜‰

Close to 50 people have read it. I guess we are all just a little unconscientionable here. (or as marian pointed out, between a rock and a hard place)

Or we assume rumours from disgruntled former employees should be taken with a grain of salt. If they really knew what they were talking about they could be whistle-blowers to the S.E.C. - although the commission probably has bigger problems to deal with.

Our Macbook just had its harddrive fail. 😞 It is being replaced on warranty. So much for reliable Apple hardware. Over the years (since the late 1980's) we've always had macs & pc's. In general the macs have been less reliable...

      I'm bummed out.

    • RE: Amazing inaugural surveillance

On a more serious note the fact that there are some people only partially visible suggest these gigapan photo montages cannot be trusted as a 'snapshot' in time. The partially visible people suggest the images that make up the overall composite aren't necessarily from the same moment in time. In an image such as this it is reasonable to expect it to capture a historic moment but it may be too inaccurate to be such a record.

I keep finding it strange that the vast majority of faces in the image look very bored and disinterested. Given that the people who attended likely are avid Obama supporters it seems very odd to me that when he is at the podium they can't seem to care less. Putting the pieces together I'd suggest the crowd pics aren't actually from the same moment that the President is speaking. I'm suggesting the montage was assembled to serve to show the context but that it isn't actually capturing the 'moment'. I don't think this is a conspiracy as the intent is likely honorable -- just that it should be understood that in essence it is a doctored photograph and therefore a less trustworthy record of the historic moment it seems to be trying to capture.

War is a horrible and nasty business.
That is why it is so important that you make sure you are on the winning side by whatever means.

I've always been somewhat of a pacifist. I can admit that for me my pacifism has been more of a lazy viewpoint rather than a well thought out philosophy. Reading Mr S' quote above it has me thinking it gets to the heart of why so many are willing to support & even personally engage in acts of war. History has shown us that being on the loosing side can be a most serious misfortune. I recently saw a documentary about the Aztecs and their horrific sacrificing their prisoners of war - many, many thousands at a time. The idea of my being a pacifist seems ridiculous to me if they were attacking my village. Faced with either fighting or the reality of the fate of being their prisoner, I'm sure I'd fight.

    • RE: Amazing inaugural surveillance

I found more proof that cloaking was being used at the inauguration. This one shows they are closer to fully understanding this technology than I had thought. It appears from the bluejeans that this may be the same person featured in Marian's posting.

Through closely examining thousands of faces in the crowd I've come to the hypothesis that the cloaking technology involves some form of electromagnetic radiation. It is well known that exposure to intense electromagnetic radiation can make people lathargic and dim-witted. Looking closely at the crowd I'm overwhelmed by the apparent boredom they appear to be suffering through. Many seem to be thinking "why the hell am I here?". Why? Clearly it is mind numbing effects of overexposure to electromagnetic radiation that makes them sit through extreme boredom.

Marian - Clearly that image is proof that the US government is developing cloaking devices by re-engineering alien spacecraft in Area 51. I predict that their understanding of this technology will advance to the point that by the next inaguration Secret Service agents will be able to be completely cloaked and not just partially cloaked as the image shows.

    • RE: [Plugin] GoldenGauge now available

I'm a little confused by this plugin. The confusion likely is a result of my knowing relatively little about the 'Golden Section'. Sketchup has built in a feature of the rectangle tool that helps users create either a square or a rectangle conforming to the proportions of the golden section. Its results correspond with my understanding of the correct proportions. When I use Rick's plugin the created grid does not seem to correspond to the golden section. The results don't seem to correspond to the proportions of golden section when checked by using the rectangle tool's golden section feature.

Am I missing something or is the plugin incorrect?
