Hi all
Stumbled across this article in Wired on Keyshot, a rendering tool I've never heard of. Thought it was interesting. Maybe this is already a rendering option in SU?

yep. That is pretty much what I was wondering about......sometimes ya just gotta love the internet.........
thanks for the tip!
Hi all
Once again my main problem is not knowing the vocabulary to use in a search......so I wonder if anyone has used SU to create a template/layout/"whatever it is called" for visualizing a box (or any other physical 3d shape). The end product for me is literally a small box or cube with a specially shaped lid to open and close. All made out of one piece of heavy paper. I'm trying to find software to make the template and print that out such that I can take that printed piece and fold along the lines and derive the finished box.
My first thought was that this was a task for Illustrator, but I'm coming up empty.
Is this an SU thing? If not, what does do this sort of layout?
thx
JB
Don't have rendering specifics at this point. What are you thinking?
thx
Jeff
I have a client considering how they could portray certain aspects of remodeling a kitchen. For example, a new cabinet comes flying in and approaches its install location. One door opens and a couple of longish wood screws then coming flying in, maybe a drill too and spin themselves into the cabinet back anchoring it to the wall. A new frig moves into its cubby, the camera zooms in and down and shows the levelers spinning.
Has anyone done anything like this in SU? Workflow? issues with moving objects? Any perspective on how I might wrap my brain around this idea?
Would be output to video in some format.
thanks
Jeff
