    • RE: How to select everything on a layer

Thank you xrok1 and Gaieus. Nested groups on different layers have been very useful up to this point for controlling visibility. Seem like the usefullness is at its end now.

Like you said, it seems I have to get the nested content out of the "master group". That brings back the question of how to select everything on a specific layer. Is there an easy way to do this? As far as I can see "select all on layer" works only for lines/faces, not for groups/components.

    • How to select everything on a layer

Long time reader, first time poster starting with a silly question.
I've been using Sketchup some time for fun, now starting to use it for a small commercial RPG Project (maps for oldschool tabletop roleplayers).
Here is my problem: Is there an easy way to select everything on a specific layer?
Let's say I have layer "1st floor" and layer "1st floor object". All the groups and components belonging to "1st floor objects" sit inside the a big 1st floor group, which belongs to layer "1st floor". That way I can switch off the floor with one click, but now I want so see only the stuff on layer "1st floor objects", but cant.

I hope it's just my legendary blindness for the most obvious solution πŸ˜•

Thank's in advance (and for the countless times you made my work with sketchup easier without me saying thanks)
