Mike! Haha, I'm sorry that I've angered you but thank you so much for your positive vibes! I try very hard to convey atmospheric qualities in my renders, so I'm glad you liked them for this reason.
Do you use rendering software?

Thought I'd post 2 3D Visuals I've recently completed for a commission. I focused on trying to get the look of velvet and water in a vase with these particular renders. Velvet is extremely difficult to convey, as is water!! The client wanted the window shutters closed for the close-up which I didn't agree with (I might render that scene again with the shutters opened!)but the artificial lighting and lack of sunlight actually helped to boost the reflective qualities of the velvet, so that's good I guess.

Here you go Neets i did it some time ago http://www.maxwellrender.com/index.php/gallery/images/2/1/448 Theer is also a thread in the gallery section where i link the source of the Citroen C6 model.
Chedda, that's absolutely amazing. I wouldn't have a clue how to model and render a car!! Well done!

Good job! So much happening this year. What's next?
(Too bad that just as interior designers have truly fallen in love with bare incandescent light bulbs, they've been outlawed
)
Thanks! I have more good news (is that possible?!). I'm meeting a publisher of a local Interior Design magazine tomorrow to discuss featuring my 3D Visuals in their mag to 'makeover' readers' homes. I pitched this idea to them and they're very interested. Fingers crossed the meeting goes well!
I know, it's a shame but I understand why. Although the LED alternatives are still quite nice. You can get Edison style bulbs with little small LEDs inside.

Nice one Neets it's a milestone for an elite club ! (ps i have something in the automotive section)
Thank you! I don't feel worthy of having my work on that website but hey, who am I to argue?! Awesome that you have your work published too! Can you provide a link to the image?

Great! Nice to see the original thread was resolved too, I was worried where it was going! Sometimes we work so long on a certain model, we miss fine details that others pick up on and that's what has made your image. That's the best thing about this forum.
Thanks Oli, yeah I'll admit that I was probably overly sensitive to Massimo's feedback. But without dredging up, I think he could have been a little softer in his reply! But I agree, if it wasn't for his contribution that image would never have reached its full potential
Thanks guys! I'm so pleased and maybe a little emotional!
Seriously, how crazy is that??!! I'm not supposed to tell anyone until Friday because the peeps at Maxwell Render want to announce it via social media on Friday but how could I NOT tell someone??!! So, I decided to share this fantastic news with my Sketchucation buddies
I owe a huge thank you to Massimo for forcing me to look at my original render with a more critical/technical eye. If it wasn't for his constructive feedback I wouldn't have been able to reach my full potential with this image.
Rich, I'm obviously going to retweet Maxwell Render on Friday and tag Sketchucation and SketchUp into it. Can you pretty please make sure that SketchUp and co. do what they can to publicise this??!
I'm so flippin' chuffed.

Thank you! I'm not sure why Maxwell gets such a hard time! I personally think it's brill

Very nice Neets... Question: if you go 'Vintage' does that mean you can stop your renders earlier and just call the static "effects"? If so I think I might go with this in the future and save some time.
Thanks! Erm, no it doesn't work that way and you know it, sir!! If only!! Countless hours of rendering and then I go and 'dirty' them up!! Ah well
I couldn't resist but give some of my most recent 3D Visuals a vintage inspired makeover. These design schemes take a lot of inspiration from mid-century designs and I took inspiration from those designs to make the images much more characterful and whimsical.
Hope you like!

If by compile you mean the render time and how long it takes up your computer, you may want to use an older system that can just stand by doing it's thing as a render farm of sorts. It doesn't have to be as fast if it's dedicated to the cause of rendering. Beware, SU Pro will only run on one system on a network at a time.
Sorry I'm only replying now! No, no! I'm not giving up on my rendering; only my animations! Although I desperately need a dedicated rendering workstation. Just need some $$$$$!!!!

Rich, thought you might like to see an actual image of one of the room sets. You were saying something about the lamp??!! lol
It's just like Massimo's house
Lol, my point is that the lamp is a huge glowing haze! At least you could still make out the silhouette in my 3D Visual!
And by the way, Mister - why aren't you following me on Twitter??!! Hmmm??!! I'm following you!! Yes, I'm THAT petty!!
Cool! Had a look at your website - your work is awesome!
