    • RE: Noise and dots in kerkythea interior render please help

hi thanks for your replys, yea it's a bit dark i nedd it to be lighter but unsure of how to do this. It looks ok in skecthup but then when it renders it seems to go dark. I am going to try the MLT setting now to see if this works and better, hopefully won't take too long as I have a deadline tomorrow πŸ˜’

    • Noise and dots in kerkythea interior render please help

      Hi everyone,

I am wondering if you could help me, I am trying to complete many interior renders whcih include reflections, spotlights and thin glass. I keep getting noise and white spots in my renders and wondering why??

I have searched the forum and have tried completing the render with these settings:
      1600 x 1200
      10. Photomaps + caustics - medium +AA 0.3

I then have set fuzzy tracing to high, shadows high and checked specularities boxed.

I found these settings on this tutorial http://www.kerkythea.net/users/Fletch/TutorialsByFletch/KT-ModifyARenderPreset.htm

But the image below shows this is not correcting the problem.

Could anyone recommend any render settings for me? I need something quite quick as the deadline for this work is tomorrow. Also why is the wood floor texture I have used from kerkythea materials not appearing in the render?

Thank you in advance, regards suzi

    • Kerkythea Render Speed

Good Evening, please could anyone help with me with my kerkythea render, I have a deadline on wednesday and worried my renders won't be complete by then. I am farly new to kerkythea, I used it for a bit in my degree in 2010 but havent used it since and therefore I am a bit rusty. I am fairly confident with the material editor and the importing and exporting settings, it's the render settings that seem to be my weakest link.

I am trying to render a exterior street scene which I have imported from skecthup. I have used the following materials, car paint, basic glass, grass, concrete, basic plastic and plaster. There isn't to many complicated materials in my model. My render so far has taken 37hours to complete around 50% of the ray tracing and I still have many other visuals to render.

I am using the custom settings as I am not confident on what the others may do and seem to be getting a good quality render in the preview box. I do understand that the quality will decrease the quicker the render is, but surely there must be some way of doing the render quicker without sacrificing too much on the quality. πŸ˜’

Please could anyone give me any insight on any render settings I should try? and help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

    • Kerkythea render times

Good evening, please could anyone help me. I am fairly new to Kerkythea, I used it a bit in 2010 but havent since and therefore a little rusty. I have got to grips with most of the materials, importing and exporting, it's the render settings I struggle with. I am trying the render a exterior street scene, but finding it's taking hours, currently it has been rendering for 37hours and has only done around 50% of the ray tracing. The materials are quite basic within the model with mainly plaster and grass, which are kerkythea materials. For the glazing I have used thin glass the basic kerkythea material. As I don't know much about the settings I am using the basic settings and wonder if there is any setting I could use to get a good quality render but in less time. I have a deadline on wednesday and really need my renders to complete, especially when I have 20visuals to complete. πŸ˜’

Thanks in advance for your answers they are really appreciated.

    • Error Messages

      Hi all,

I ma new to this forum and also quite a beginner at vray. I hope you can all help me though, I am trying to render a basic sketchup model, but it does have some components imported from 3d warehouse. I have used a mixture of skecthup materials and some from the free vray materials pack. Everytime I click to render my scene it is coming up witht he error messgae:

'WE have encountered an error(s) when trying to render. please check the error log for more detail'

and doesn't even start to render. I have tried de-bugging the scene and changing some of the materials around but nothing seems to be working. My render settings haven't been changed from standard, apart from the output size which I have increased to 1600. I also don't know where i can find the error log, never seen this that's why i haven't checked it.

Would really appreciate any answers, thanks in adavance.
