My students modeled our school in 3D. Our problem is that our school is in a valley between two mountains. So whenever we turn the terrain on, our school position is all out of wack, because Google Earth's image does not match the terrain. Is there a fix to this? Can we edit the terrain some how?

Hi Matt and welcome!
The project sounds to be fun - especially for me since I am an archaeologist myself but also taught history and art history at secondary school for nine years. So keep us updated and should you (or your students) have any questions, feel encouraged to ask!
Thanks for the welcomes Solo and Gaieus,
My concentration while getting my education degree was History, so its definitely my favorite subject. But, I was one of those type of students in college that wanted to be everything and I still do. I went from Computer Science to Mathematics (wanted to be a math professor), Political Science, Pre-law...... and finally graduated last year with an Education degree with concentrations in History and Math.
But, once again thank you for your welcomes, and we will keep you updated.

Educator New to SU
Hello,
My name is Matt and I am a teacher and our school's Student Technology Leadership Program Coach. Im glad to have found this community, because my students and I are now starting to learn SU. Last semester we made an Interactive Whiteboard for a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics competition and we won first place in our district and hopefully, it can win on the State and National level coming up.
Since our Whiteboard project is complete, we have started working on our project for next year. We have decided to model historical places in our state and filming "virtual field trips" by interviewing historians and showing our 3d models.
We are greenhorns, but we successfully have already modeled our school(outside only). That in itself was a learning process and a task. So, I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully we can call on people from this community to answer our questions we will have time from time.
Thanks
