Some local editing ( erasing to white space, some finger painting, ...) were done in Photoshop, but nothing extensive, really quick 5 min photoshop session

RE: FotoSketcher is pretty cool
no SketchUp here, just playing with FotoSketcher (and a bit of Photoshop) to modify this image taken by a friend...
FotoSketcher is cool!!!

RE: Need a SketchUp promotional Video (not Tutorial) or Flyer
Thank you ALL for giving your advise and suggestions to this topic; we had a group of 14 kids from various area schools (all grade 9s), showed them a 4 minutes intro (instructional) video from YouTube, then a 3 min. "cool stuff" video with tanks and game design by Massive Black, then finally a video on ancient Rome also including the Google Earth interface.
Then one of our architectural Coop University Students winged a 3D model of a Wii console - she did not tell the kids what was it supposed to be, but they guessed anyway within the first 2 minutes.
Finally, we had all of them try the software for 15-20 minutes; some got bored quickly, but about 1/3 got so much into it that they even printed color prints of their models! Great stuff!!!
again, thanks to All for their inputs

thanks Guys!
I had no idea so much valuable content migrated to YouTube, will check it out tonight - somehow my corporate network does not like me browsing through the Tube stuff... wonder why ...

RE: Need a SketchUp promotional Video (not Tutorial) or Flyer
thanks Gaieus,
back when SU5 was around, they had a "Watch Me First" video, then located at this link (now dead: http://download.sketchup.com/downloads/training/tutorials50/movies/Mkt_B5-watch_me_first.html)
Anyone by chance has saved a copy of the promo video that was placed there? And isn't it funny that so much detail stuff can be found for every possible aspect of the software, but no product-selling propaganda even exists?
I never thought I'll asking for some...

Need a SketchUp promotional Video (not Tutorial) or Flyer
Hi,
we have a bunch of 14-years old Grade 9 students coming to the office as part of a Bring Your Kid to Work campain; I am to show them SketchUp in a short demo, and was looking for some videos showing the various features of the software in a very short movie clip... something with a high WOW factor but without all the technical how-to background, those kids have a rather short attention span.I found lots of "how-to" tutorial addressing specific issues, but no overall video that would pack the "cool stuff" into a 2-3 min show... anyone knows where I could get something like that?
Alternatively, if you know of an overall SketchUp flyer-brochure-ready to print page that looks good, I would print copies for them to take home. Any leads will be much appreciated.

RE: Digital watercolour...
Ross,
funny it comes from a guy wearing a yellow t-shirt, but I find the color of the bus a bit too aggressive! Ends up distracting my attention from the school fasade. Here in Ontario schoolbuses are painted a warmer yellow colour. I think your rendering may look better with a more orang-y bus, not a lemon-y bus, if possible
cheers,

RE: [WIP] Monumental Heart of Rome
Elysium,
magnificent work!Dylan,
being in the arena when it was full must have been amazing... unless you were in the very middle of the Colosseum being chased by a tiger! -
RE: What activities do you do?
back to the topic...
winter: skiing
summer: windsurfing, bicycling
all year: badminton, some swimmingI wish I could do the first 2 more often, but they are very much dependant on weather. And since I really hate gyms, often I do just nothing

RE: Jim's Unfold Tool Tutorials (and Camtasia Tests)
Camtasia uses it's own TSCC codec - avialable here for free:
http://www.techsmith.com/download/codecs.aspOne way to avoid the codec issue is to convert the final avi to flash with Camtasia; not only any flash player will play it, but file size is also reduced dramatically

RE: WACOM tablet in sketchup
yeah, i have it set the same way, but still prefer the one-handed mouse wheel over the 2-handed wacom pen + touch strip
glad it works for you, though, it is indeed a marvelous piece of hardware
happy sketching

RE: WACOM tablet in sketchup
I have been using Wacom tablets for several years for both SU and CADD because of wrist problems when mousing around too much... love it, however, just for SU I am missing a bit the wheel button - it can be configured with the side strip as mentioned above but it's not the same to me.
Either way, my recommendation is always for the SMALLEST size; less wrist/arm movement works best here. BTW, there were some posts to the dead newsgroup about it as well...
have fun,

RE: Array Copy along Edge?
Thom,
try the WELD ruby for "welding" line pieces together. Then you can select a whole(long) path for your copy-along-pathWeld.rb is free - I think smustard has it
