    • Modelling on exact GPS-coordinates

Being intrested in modelling on exact GPS-coordinates, the window-->model info-->location isn't enough. This as I'm particularly intrested in landscape modelling, thus modelling on large surfaces (thus very large margin of error; ideally I would like to work correct upto 1 m). I was thinking of thus either:

      • using the above method + excel spreadsheets (for determining relative location) --> see http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/sketchup/thread?tid=7437d98c8fa487f5&hl=en I'm not sure how this needs to be done though + the margin of error seems quite large

      • or by altering the kml textfile myself -->perhaps by swapping the <altitudemode> tag by another tag which is capable of supporting 4 GPS coordinates; ie LatLonQuad, ... Since this too is not sufficient, perhaps 2 modells can be determined, in the form of Model id="building" followed by the 4 coordinates, and Model id="soil" followed by the 4 coordinates. "Soil" would then be solely the soil surface (which can be flat or with gradience, ie by using the sandbox tools. "building" is offcourse the building, standing on the soil surface.

      • or by using ruby's ?

Of the last method I also don't quite understand how to do it.

      Any help ?
