In fact, selecting is a problem with SU 7 for me, I have tried the same processes in SU 6 with no problems at all.

We have the same issue, you can fix it by following these steps

1. Select all ( Ctrl + A)
2. Go in menu Edit , go to the end of the column, you will see some thing like "1 component", "1 group" or a "number" with groups or component
3. Go inside this selection to chose Expode
4. You may have to repeat this 3 steps until u can select, and then you can regroup these elements
