RE: 2D drafting ruby
why settle for that... if they're gonna write something... allow us to select a plane such a the section and only work in it...
-
RE: 2D drafting ruby
this should go on the wish list... mmm 2d drafting... but what about z plane problems? if you are working on the top plate of a house in 2D what keeps a new line from attaching at the bottom plate or window sill?

RE: Anti-SketchUp! Snobbery [or Ignorance?]
I've had a few clients who were aware fo the program... one that dared to ask for the file... and I'm sure he had quite a few issues getting around in the model and turning on and off certain views... he asked a few times for help. which I gave... so maybe the first thing to tell such clients is "shareware huh?" let's see you do it... or you could take the polite route and tell them it gives you the oppurtunity after all these years to share your model with novice users so that they can peruse the model inside and out... otherwise they would be stuck in the payware of several years back where the software costs thousands and the clients could niether afford, navigate, or operate.

RE: Having difficulties using putonlayer.rb
I've installed the ruby and find it on "right click" near the bottom says "Put On Layer"
you must have an item selected
-
RE: Having difficulties using putonlayer.rb
open your plugin folder and check to make sure that the file ends in .rb and not .rb.txt
-
RE: Having difficulties using putonlayer.rb
let's be clear here... you get no context menu when you right click or the putonlayer does not show up on the context menu?

RE: How can I assign a keyboard key as a SketchUp shortcut

RE: Saved file does not match what's on the screen.
you need to explode it I think and resave as comp. to get the effect. I beleive the transofrm on components is on a per model scale. so when the component is added to the next model it's back to original size... right?

Organize your Rubies?

RE: Outliner to Text?
Howard, yes please... do make a thread in the Tut section. I ask you to so they'll see your name and give you credit...

RE: DO Standards (of any sort) exist for Materials / Tiles
feel free to contact me at sketchup-house-plans.com and I can set you up with some space to work on this... and perhaps help.
standards would be realisim...
a sheet of plywood should cover 4'x8' with out repeating the pattern or should look correct when repeating...
wood trim should be narrow and long, and should have tight graining.
a cross section of wood should be just that, a cross section, and the outside of wood or the long grain should be just that...
yeah I could get into this.

RE: Heavy terrain a problem
Edson,
have you tried sections your property in to multiple components... that could be turned of? using my 1 acre cubes, I "intersect" and then have 1 acre tracts I can turn on and off. but still work on the ground around the structure.
hope that helps

RE: Problem with pict as texture
well when you click on the face and or right click to texture... you should see the whole image... if you don't then there must be another issue. if you do, then you could just scale down.
-
RE: Problem with pict as texture
is it the scale of the image? is it high def?
