    • Flatten (unroll) curved surface for cutsheet?

      Hi All,

      I have designed a horn consisting of 4 curved surfaces, each surface being a triangle with curved sides.

      The curves are results of formulas generated in excel and imported as point cloud (and than made into surfaces)
      The resolution of the point cloud is very high (1mm point, total length is 500mm) so I have a lot of surfaces. I need this high precission because of acoustic reasons.

      My question is;

      I have the model complete now and I want to build the horn walls out of bend wood.
      To get a cut sheet for this I need to "flatten" or "unroll" the walls to be a flat plane.

      I tried flattery to do this, but this seems very cumbersome. Any ideas how to do this?

      Thanks in advance,
      Kees
