    • RE: Linking groups or components relative to each other

one other thing i would like to be able to achieve is as i make the draw wider more handles appear at a set distance apart. I know I might be asking alot but surely somewhere out there people are already doing this.
      Thanks again.

Thank you for that Jean. This is exactly what I have been doing for quite some time now. What I would like to be able to achieve is to not have to do this every time I need to resize the draw. Basically I would like to be able to assign an attribute to each part of the draw So as I resize, all the bits of the draw respond in the way that has been assigned to them. i.e. scale and relative position. I've heard the term sticky points bandied about.
Still haven't tried fredo. Might give that a go.
Thanks again for your time and patience.

      Hi Juno,

      Check out FredoScale:
      http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=17948

That looks like a great tool.
I don't think it's exactly what I'm after but it will definitely come in handy.
I'll try and explain in more detail I guess.
So imagine we have a draw made of 7mm plywood. The draw has handles that are cut into the front of the draw.
Now I would like to change the scale of the whole draw, without changing the size and position of the cutouts(handles), relative to the top corners of the draw. The draw is still made out of 7mm ply, so during the scaling this attribute hasn't changed.
What I want to be able to do is assign each group/component with certain attributes. these would be scale, as in which axis can be scaled if any and relative position to another group/component.
I'm a total noob when it comes to dynamic components and I feel the answer lies in them somehow. I don't have the pro version and am seriously considering buying it if what I've asked is possible.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

    • Linking groups or components relative to each other

      Hi guys. Noob question.
Is there any way of linking for example a draw handle relative to a position on the draw? So when the draw front is scaled up the handle remains at a certain position relative to let's say the top left corner of the draw.
Do I need SU pro to be able to do this?
Also is there any way of when scaling to only have the y axis scale for example, on a particular component or group?

      Thanks for your time.
