thanks, it wasn't the tracing depth issue, but your post helped me to find out, it was transparency level default setting that was too low, i raised it to 500 and now everything is fine.

RE: 130 Free xFrog Plants! (no piracy)
hello
i downloaded one of those free models from the xfrog website, the Rosemary Grevillea: http://xfrog.com/product/OC54.html but i have strange issues during rendering in vray for sketchup. i used the UV Toolkit2 plugin that copies the maps from frontface material to the backface and in vray material menu i checked the transparency form map option, but when i try to render the plant i have a kind of black hole behind it. similar burnt effect i had with overlapping surfaces but it's not the case i guess. anybody of you experienced similar problems before? how can i get rid of it?it's visible even in the alpha channel:
it appears behind the plant no matter what point of view i choose...

RE: Interior scene - dark spots in darker areas
thank you very much! i increased the sample value to 50 in the irradiance map menu and everything is fine now, i left all the settings on my usual values so the render time is still fast, with the 0/2 IM rate or the 3000 subdivs in LC the render time was too long

Interior scene - dark spots in darker areas
hi guys, sorry for an annoying thread...until now i've been using vray mostly for the daylight scenes, now i'm working on an interior scene with only the interior lights in it and i have some issue with the render artefacts in the darker areas...
i have black spots/halos on the vaulted ceiling, i increased the quality of the irradiance map from -3/-1 to 0/2 but the spots become only smaller but even more visible, i tried to adjust the light cache in any possible way too (subdivs 2000, sample size 0,01, filter size 0,01) but without any result
which setting should i adjust to achieve a smooth gradient change between the darker and the lighter parts of the vault without that dark/light splotchy pattern?
i have also a curiosity, in the third image - that is a screenshot taken during the LC calculation phase - there are clearly visible hexagonal multi color samples under the LC noise, is there any way to change their size or they're a default setting without any possibility to be changed?
thank you
vray 1.48.89

Polycarbonate
Hi guys! sorry if i'm annoying you with my personal problem but I have a desperate need of polycarbonate material for vray for my graduation project. Usually i use ready materials and then i modify them (i change textures and/or some settings) but the polycarbonate is just too complicated for me. I found a free polycarbonate on vraymaterials.de but as you know it's not good for vray for skp. Have you ever seen polycarbonate material for vray for skp on the internet? or do you know how to crate it? wich settings should i change? any tutorial?
Thanks in advance!
