The exterior shots are great, especially the first one. Not a big fan of the interiors but it may be more the design I'm not a fan of, I think the one that shows most the whole room looknig at the judge's desk is the best one> Maybe the DOF is too strong or the exposure is too high, I don't know. (still better than I can do )

RE: Shrine WIP updated
cool design, I look forward to the renders. I just made the jump from Twilight to Thea and it's been going well, I love Twilight but I'm starting to see the power of Thea, can't wait to master it someday...hopefully. (plus someone posted a good corten metal material on the forums!)

RE: Queen Anne Style
Neat, due to the style of the home I think it would be neat to use FotoSketcher on the render to give it a more hand drawn look but still retain the shadows and colors. It would be easier to add plants which I think its what the render is missing. Thumbs up on a green version with a good brown for detail.
Cheers,

RE: Petit Salon...
Cool render as usual, I really like the lamps. Not a huge fan of the stone texture IMO. That candle is great. It looks like it could be just a plane rendered as a light emitter which I kind of like (because I think I could do that myself....).
How did you create the blankets in the scene?jsteacy

RE: Andre Barbosa's Modelling Time - Blender
Very cool, love the attention to detail. I could see some improvement in modeling techniques but if you keep doing things like this it will come over time.

RE: Yamaha R6
Very convincing render. My one comment is the shadows of the bike don't quite match the shadows on the building.

RE: Red Bull Air Racer
Very cool, I like the panel texture on the main body. You'd score extra points for rivets on it though. I wonder if photoshop-ing them into a bump map would be enough. I hope the finished renders will have a sky and maybe a smoke effect coming off the back end. Keep up the good work!

RE: Thanks Plugin Creators
Yes! All you ruby masters are amazing! I'm always excited to see a new script/plugin then once the excitement passes I realized the time and effort that went into it and begin to see the passion as well as generosity in forwarding SketchUp and this community.
Simply Amazing! Thank you.

RE: [Plugin] Import OBJ with Materials v2.1 20131118
I tried all of them including the house bird, and nothing gets imported. This is what I get from the console after I click the units to import to:
Error; #<ArgumentError; Cannot convert argument to Sketchup;;Point3d> C;/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/obj_importer.rb;278;in `add' C;/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/obj_importer.rb;278;in `run' C;/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/obj_importer.rb;278;in `map' C;/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/obj_importer.rb;278;in `run' C;/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/obj_importer.rb;208;in `each' C;/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/obj_importer.rb;208;in `run' C;/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/obj_importer.rb;329 C;/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/obj_importer.rb;329;in `call'

RE: [Plugin] Import OBJ with Materials v2.1 20131118
TIG, I tried using your script to import .obj files from this website http://www.modelplusmodel.com, and it doesn't work. note that it didn't work for the simlab importer as well, something about negative indexes of the faces. Can you look into it? Also reading through the posts trying to get a better understanding of the .obj file type. Does every obj file need a mtl file for materials and textures?

RE: Public Beta for Obj, SolidWorks, STEP, and FBX importers
Ashraf,
I tried the .fbx importer with the same models from that website, it brings in the geometry but does not import the textures.

RE: Public Beta for Obj, SolidWorks, STEP, and FBX importers
I bought a model off of http://www.modelplusmodel.com, the .obj file won't import into sketchup. Once I select the file and hit open simlab obj importer crashes, though it doesn't crash sketchup. the model I purchased does come with a .fbx file so I'm going to download the fbx importer tonight, and try that once I get the trial code.

RE: Evening mood
It amazes me how frequent you post such high quality interior renders. Good job. I like the carpet but not the couch and chairs (not to say they didn't render well, they just don't look comfortable
) Is the image behind the couch a painting or something else? It looks a little flat. Is it supposed to be in plane with the wall? For some reason I want to see a dim, small light in the kitchen (I think it's a kitchen) like a night light or a light on a microwave. Nothing that lights up that area but some sort of visual interest in the dark area that happens to be more or less in the center of the image. Either way great render.

RE: [Conceptual] - Villa
To be honest, it's not in my taste. Where is this house supposed to be located? It might help to have some context for the home as well as some entourage like people, furniture, plants, etc. It would be better to see some color and textures as well.
hope this helps, jsteacy

RE: La Romareda: Walk-throughs of houses (made with LightUp)
Very cool,
I have some questions about lightup, I thinking about buying it. Did lightup create the video file for you or did it have to process a bunch of images or use any other software? Did it take a while to generate the video? How big is the video file?
