• RE: [Plugin] ClothWorks v1.8.0 - 28 Apr 2024

Hello all,

I went through most Clothworks tutorials on Youtube. But there are still a few advanced setting options I don't know how to use.

Outline Pins
Multi-threaded
Draw Vertices

Is there any video tutorial that has some example explaining these.
Thanks

Hi there,

I have another technical question.

If I want to draw a model of an inflated object without air ( only small bulbs left inside), like the ones in the picture. It’s much thinner comparing to the pillow example in instruction.

So which ones of the parameters do I have to adjust?

the Thickness of the object (Cloth tab —Thickness)
the bubble inside (?)
the slightly puffy edge (?)

I have only used SketchUp for 3 months. And I was recommended Clothworks for this particular purpose. Or maybe it is not the best solution?

Please help.
Much appreciated.

This is what I get...never be able to get it quite even
Or should I do the other way around, like draw a rectangle with thickness and then make the bubles separately? Use sandbox? But I tried sandbox, it can only create rectangle face not some puffy effect. I still want the most part of the object to look slightly puffy so it can be recognized as a flattened inflated object.

I am now following the menu to give it a try and I got this exposed table edge.
The parameter setting is exactly the same as the ones on the example in the menu.

Try the settings shown here.

Correct the face orientation first, though. Make sure the front faces are up.

Thanks, it fixed it.

Is that because I use Quadrilateral Grid + adaptive remeshing? But that is what is said in the menu. Or in simpler cases, the Quadrilateral Grid will be enough?

Hi Anton,

It's sorted.
I updated my system to MacOS 10.13. and tried again. The validating message went through.

Maybe there should be some reminder on the download page for those who still using the older macOS system.

Thanks again.
Interesting case. I will inform SketUcation team about this incompatibility issue. Thank you for your test and patience!
NO problem. Thanks for the great extension.

@hydboxhydbox Your Mac OS is 10.11. Is it possible for you to upgrade to 10.13? I presume that could be conflicting with SketchUcation extension. Alternatively, it could be thata SCF 4.0 is not compatible with SU2017 but he details indicate that it is compatible with SU2017 and later.

I just installed SketchUcation(newest version) and Clothworks. I purchased the license and got the License e-mail. But I am not able to validate it. I am using a Mac. I saw someone above had the same problem (same system) I never used the SKetchUcation extension before. It's the first time I purchase a license on it. So I don't know if the mac system is the problem.
I e-mailed back, don't know if there will be any answer.

Not sure what's the issue here. Can you confirm your SketchUcation version by selecting (Menu)Window->Extension Manager? See attached image.

Hello Anton,

I purchased the license the day before. But I am having some problems validating the license.
Please help.

system: OS X 10.11.6
SketchUp: SketchUp 2017 pro
Cloth works: ClothWorks_v1.7.4
SketchUcationTools_v4.1.1

I have been trying since yesterday. No any luck.
By the way, I am not able to load the SketchUcation Plugin store in the extension, either.
