Jonathan, I'm using V-ray but I only learning to use it, a lot of the settings are far above my head. A glass bump map, I've never heard of but I'd be interested to learn more about it.
      Kind regards John

Jonathan & John, galleries sound great in practice but imagine the server load if every member had their own!. I'm paying for web hosting space with my Internet package but havn't a clue how to set a page up!

I meant posting all your pictures in one thread one this site. So we can all see them as a collective. Just an idea.
Just one crit. Not sure what renderer you are using. But have you thought about using a bulge / bumpmap for your glass material. To give that old warped reflection glass look.
Look forward to your next post.

      good holmes
can you share you nice night hdri plz

      Check this site out http://vknt.be/free/skies/

      TIP

You can use the HDRI in the GI environment and reflection slot. Leave the BG slot empty. This way you will
have a rendered image with the lighting and reflections from your HDRI, but with no background.

Make sure in the VFB channel you have the alpha mask on. I would then save your image as a PNG.

Now in PS you can include your HDRI in the background and control the Brightness/colour/exposure....etc

      Hope this helps.

      for night render
have you used vray rectangle light or omni light into the building
and can you show setting for vray light plz

      Hi Robert
All my settings are standard. I used a HDRI to light the environment. I used omni's lights to illuminate
inside and outside the building. Cheers for your comments.

Design wise Im not so proud of this one. The client watched far to much TV home improvement shows and thought she was a designer.
Oh well some jobs are bread and butter. As always crits welcome.

Yup, that sounds about the same as me. I lose reflection layers, too. I seem to get the error rendering most often when I have Photoshop or another instance of SketchUp open.

      Really hmmmmmmm
Thats prob the same with me too. I'll start testing with PS and other SU closed.

Plz share ur setting for night render

My settings are standard. In the Environment tab, I used an HDRI image in the GI and reflection slot.
I left the Backgound slot empty. So that in PS i could include the HDRI backgound and have more control of
      it.

No, no word. They wrote back, asked a few questions, then asked for the model. I can't send it to them because we have a confidentiality agreement on the project. So that was the end of that. I haven't seen it recently, but I think I discovered when it happens: I've been getting an error dialog box from VRay occasionally and then my materials get messed up. I think it happens when I have either Adobe Photoshop CS5 and/or Autocad 2007 running. I haven't tried recreating it, though.

Same happened to me. It seems to happen after a crash for me.
The material also lost its reflection layers and replaced them with
multipule diffuse, option and tap tabs.

Great work. Love 'em all! The exteriors are exceptional. Is the roof and siding displaced or modeled? My only critique would be adding more in the way of plants and landscape as it's a bit boring. Love the deck material and the details down to the screws.

Thanks, glad you like them. The Roofing and Sliding are all modeled. Ive just had better results using modeled cladding than displacement. Your totally right about the planting. I have had mixed results on using clipmaps. The model was getting pretty heavy using models. I really need to improve my PS skills.
The Landscaping architect took over after me. Im sure he was alot more creative than I was.
