Dave,
I do believe that's the one I'm looking for. You don't know how much time you've just saved me.
Many many thanks

Thanks Dave, I've had a look at this before. How do you make this text into a .rb file ?

Component list, dimensions, volume HELP!
Dear All,
first off, thanks to everyone who writes plugins for Sketchup. There are many very handy tools which maximise the sketchup experience. As a furniture designer and maker I have made use of the Volume tool, dimension tool and component list tool (to name a few) to help me calculate prices for new designs, and I have already saved a lot of time.
However, and here comes my request to the script writers, if there were a tool to combine all of these, life would be even easier. I would like to see a component list tool that exported a component list in excel, that lists each component once, followed by the number of instances of that component, followed by the outside dimensions of that component, followed by the volume of those dimensions in cubic meters to at least 4 decimal places.
The current volume tools I have been using gets confused by the joints that I use, but the dimensioning tool just takes the outside dimensions, which of course takes into account the wastage of the wood from which the component is being cut. I don't know if a tool like this is even possible, and I don't have time to start learning ruby script myself because I'm too busy dimensioning, and working out the volume of my components after I have pulled a box around them. Click, print, cutting list with component volume, that's what I'm talking about. Maybe I'm missing something, so any feedback would be welcome, and to the ruby wizards out there, I really need this tool.
cheers

Sketchup free vs. sketchup pro
What are the real advantages of sketchup pro over the free version?

Furniture and rendering furniture
I use sketchup exclusively for designing furniture. I need some pointers on more realistic rendering for furniture. Which rendering plugin is best for furniture? Directions to any furniture or woodworking related tutorials or plugins would be appreciated. Thanks
