    • RE: Align to axes flips to view from below

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I want to put stuff on a rooftop aligned with the roof instead of the NS-EW axes. After loading the geolocation I go to tools > axes and align the red axis with the roof edge. Then I right click on an axis outside the geolocation image and select Align View. It flips the whole model upside down and looks at it from the bottom.

Like I said, it does this sometimes, but not all the time. I just tried it for about the 30th time and suddenly it worked correctly. I have no idea what I did differently, if anything.

I would REALLY like to know if something I do differently is making the difference (and if so what that is, of course) or if SketchUp is making my life miserable on its own. I have wasted an hour on what should have been a task of a few seconds.

    • Align to axes flips to view from below

This is driving me crazy. I geolocate, move the axes to line up with a roof line of a building, tell it to align to the new axes... and it flips the view to from below! Why does it do this??? It only happens sometimes but this time I can't get it to work right with the document I am working on now no matter what I do! What am I doing that causes this? Please help! I have been working for a half hour on a thirty second task!

    • RE: Problem with geolocation

"I would trying clearing the IE caches/temporary internet files next."

My apologies; that seems to have worked. I had cleared the history but I had not gone into internet options and dumped everything. Once I did that, geolocation started working again.

      Thanks!

    • RE: Problem with geolocation

SU2015, yes, and geolocation worked fine until a couple of days ago. The weird thing is that if I zoom in manually from the world map it works fine; it just won't search for an address.

As for IE, didn't Microsoft just cut off support for IE? BTW, SU geolocation works just fine on my Mac.

    • RE: Problem with geolocation

I don't use IE, but I did that, anyway. I also dumped the history on FireFox, which I do use. Neither had any effect. This is a REAL problem for me. I use geolocation a lot; at least I did before it crapped out on me.

    • Problem with geolocation

I have a problem with geolocation. The "search" button is suddenly nonfunctional. I can manually scan around and zoom in the map and grab an image, but I cannot search for an address. I have restarted my computer and nothing changed. The next step would be to uninstall and reinstall SketchUp, but I don't want to do that if I do not have to.

      Ideas, anyone?
