    • RE: Inputbox too narrow

It is the Sketchup API inputbox that I am referring to. Adding spaces and possibly a period at the end is really not a very good solution.

      English - OK
      French - OK
      Russian - doesn't fit ( how many spaces )
Chinese - or some other language ( how many spaces )

Would it be better if I converted this over to a web dialog.

    • RE: Between different Macs plugin works and doesn't work

I did post a very small app ( not scrambled ) that was able to produce the error. It is dialog_test.rb

      http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=183%26amp;t=54157%26amp;p=510850#p510850

I believe that Walt was able to duplicate the issue with his desktop.

There is a single web dialog and 1 http call.
The web dialog does call the ruby script twice. Once when the DOM is loaded and once with the results of the http call.

The other direction there was but 1 call.

    • Inputbox too narrow

I've been working with a few different languages and the sketchup inputbox.

My computer is setup with english.

Everything is working just fine in French.
The problem is when I supply prompts and lists in russian.

The prompts look ok but there isn't sufficient room and the text cuts out.
The lists don't look good at all - I just see a bunch of vertical bars.

This issue has been resolved. I am now substituting single quote ' for back tick ` and then back again. This allows us to see the single quote in the web dialog controls.

Walt - I'm sorry but I can't answer that question. I haven't heard anyone else having that problem. It may have something to do with http configurations on your specific machine.

Maybe someone else can answer it. Perhaps start a new thread on this. Maybe the developer forum will catch some attention.

As you can see - the code isn't doing a whole lot.

Walt - put this rb into your plugins folder and see what you get.

There will be a menu item under plugins called "Web Dialog Test"

Walt - that is wierd - you normally don't see that screen. The web hosting site has been experiencing hack attacks. Please tell me if you see this screen again.

Jeff - Good catch. You are correct - the message is worded wrong. I have changed it for the next version.

Walt - I went to my web site and took a look. There isn't a single http attempt for user "mwm5053".

I also looked at all of my registered users and there isn't a user "mwm5053" in that file.

You need to go to my web site - CabMaker32.com and click logon and register. You will then receive an email with your password. You can also send me a private message with your email address. I can also look in my user file and see if that email address has been registered under perhaps a different user.

    • RE: Curved Staircases

Walt - If you look at the title of the web dialog it is saying "http error 0". Sorry about the confusion. I thought that it would be good to show the web dialog whether you have an error or not? I could change the back ground color from wheat to red or something like that.

The other thing to note is that you may need more accuracy than 1/2" precision to properly draw a stair case. I'm not exactly sure how sketchup handles smaller values than precision.

If you let the defaults.txt file to "User" and "test" and connected then you should see "Testing - temporary status granted"

If you edited defaults.txt file to "mwm5053" and put in the emailed password then you should see "You have 30 days left in trial"

John - I looked at my PM messages - I have only received 1 since I put up version 1.0.7 08 Feb 2014, 08:39( which had the feet fix ).

Your last message had to do with the beta version 2014.

Walt - all I can think of doing is pulling out the http code and putting it into a very simple rb script ( not scrambled ).

What user ID are you using? If it isn't the default "User" "test" then I will see what my logs show at the web site. We'll see if we made it that far.

Jeff - both the top and bottom of the tread get bullnosed. So you can't bullnose the top with a 1" radius and the bottom with a 1" radius.

In this case the maximum bullnose for a 1.5" tread is 0.75".

Jeff have you tried with template of feet?

My plan is to connect to web while in trial. Once a user is licensed then connecting to web site will no longer be necessary.

      Walt,

It appears there can be many different problems that can cause an http error code 0. In the majority of cases it has to do with configuration. Essentially - the host is unreachable. Some google searches suggest that it is a firewall issue.

Try going to your browser and enter this
      cabmaker32.com/stairmaker_service.php

If you can reach the service from the browser you should get back
      {"code":-11,"text":"invalid format","token":240583372}

    • RE: Curved Staircases

I've made a change at the server to temporarily allow access for user "User" and password "test". After testing this will be removed. At least it allows you to test without having to update defaults.txt for each version.

I've also made a change to stair maker which will give you back the http error code.

You need to go to my web site and register. An email will be sent to you with your userid and password. Edit the defaults.txt file and put your userid and password in the file. Plugins/GKWare_StaireMaker/Defaults.txt.

http error means the http connection did not complete. I will modify the code to report back the exact error code.

    • RE: Curved Staircases

I now have Stairmaker handling all of the different units.

The problem was with the single quote used for feet '
If you have feet ' and inches " then I had to deal with the single quote.

I have ruby replace the ' with the back tick ` and have the javascript in the web dialog replace it back as each measurement is put into the controls.

I'm now hoping there isn't anything else wrong with the Mac version.

this is a redirect from source to html.
When you view source - the html looks properly formatted.

It appears to be a script error for the web dialog.

Regardless - I'll work on narrowing it down.
