    • RE: Deleting a face?

In the first file I've cut everything away from the intersection, and have a circular plane over the hole that I want to be open. In the second I have taken the hole, clicked the circular plane, hit delete, have been left with the entire intersecting plane still covering the hole, and have no way of selecting the circular plane. any help would be appreciated.

      First case, circular plane selectable

Second face, circular plane deleted but the intersecting plane interferes

Thanks a ton, as I said I was pretty sure it was simple. On a related and even more frustrating note, I was able to delete the face on the "needle" that was posted earlier, but upon trying it in my own creations I found that it won't work for me. Any idea why that may be? I select and delete the round cover, but the face is still there and I can't re-select anything in the circle. If I hit delete again it deletes the whole face.

That is exactly my problem it seems, I watched the tutorials but I'm unable to delete that face without compromising the inside of the tube I cut. As I said it seems to be obvious to everyone but me as to how this face is removed but I can't seem to grasp it...

    • Deleting a face?

Hey all, I'm fairly new to SketchUp, and have a question that seems to be apparent to everyone but myself. I'm cutting a block that has a tube through it, and have found help doing so with the intersect function but it seems that the intersecting plane leaves a cover over my hole. I keep seeing in help forums that people say 'delete the excess' and one person had my problem, to which a helper replied "you simply haven't deleted all of the excess". I don't understand what there is left to delete that doesn't compromise the tube inside. If someone could spell it out for me (as I'm fairly sure it's simple) I would appreciate it very much.

      One example was found here

I don't understand what excess was deleted to cut the face that covers the end that I cut off from the model.
