    • Must Have Plugin

      Hello All,

I am an architectural intern/student and by no means a SU master. I was wondering what plugins are "must haves". I have looked into a few rendering plugins such as podium and kerkythea, but thats about as far as my knowledge goes. I'm sure there are loads of them which would make modeling, rendering, and well the whole process much more time effective and help to create higher quality models. If anyone has suggestions I am all ears, well eyes in this case. Thank you for your time and have a great day.

    • RE: Rendering

This model was constructed using sketch up, and then imported into 3ds and rendered. it took some time but half the fun is figuring it out if you could just push render and turn out a jewel everyone would and it wouldn't be special.

You can d/l podium trial version which works fine, but your output images will only be 500x500 pixels for the trial. http://www.suplugins.com/index.php?p=page&page_id=Download.

Thank you all. the stool turned out quite nice, but i had one more question. If i was trying to create the Kartell Gem Stool, is there a knurl tool or something to that effect that would triangulate the surface to have the realistic qualities of the stool. Thanks again I appreciate you taking the time to help.

      Solo,
Thank you for trying to help, but I have to be honest. I have no idea what you just said.

    • How to create an hour glass shape.

      Hello all,
I am relatively new to the program and am trying to create a stool. I would like the stool to be similar to an hour glass (fatter at the top and bottom, skinnier in the center). I don't really know where to start. I've tried creating a circle and using the follow me tool over an arc, with little success. Thank you for your time.
