Those extra pieces on the deck are actually rotating banner space for the event sponsors. They scroll through to get as much air time for each sponsor on TV as possible.

Believe it or not, about 70% of what you see is concrete (later recycled) poured in place and the rest is made up of steel frame structures and wood sheeting covered in a 1/4" thick layer of Skatelite...designed for skatepark use. We do dress up the parks with a bit of paint.

I am currently working on this years courses...I will release the pics as soon as I get the design approved.

I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself to the SketUcation community.

My name is Dug Ketterman, and I am the lead designer for Californiarampworks.com

I have been using Sketchup exclusively for the past 5 years to design and develop skateparks and action sports equipment.

Some of my design and engineering work includes the X Games Street and Park designs (2010-2012), MegaRamp Events, The Berrics, The DC Embassy and many other projects for top professionals such as Danny Way, Bob Burnquist, Rob Dyrdek, Vaughn Gitten Jr., Jamie Thomas and PLG... to name a few.

Some of my international design work has been completed in Shanghai, Barcelona, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Santiago Chile, Kimberly South Africa and the list continues to grow.

I am currently planning out a video series that will give an insight into the world of skatepark design and fundamentals for those interested in getting into the field. Stay tuned.
