    • RE: Followme tool problem on circular path

Thanks everyone. I found the solution on another video.
It looks like having a surface causes a problem...however in video #68 this was not a problem.
After drawing a circle, I need to delete the surface. Then I get a solid model.
If I leave the surface intact, then the model does not have a bottom surface after following the circle.

Still trying to learn all of these concepts.

      Thanks again for the replies.

    • Followme tool problem on circular path

Hi all, I am new to sketchup, and new to this forum.

      And I have a problem.
I am trying to reproduce the item in this tutorial:

It is a chess piece, and uses the followme tool to create a chess piece after the profile is defined.
My problem is that after the shape is created, it is no longer a solid.
I can use the follow me on a straight path, and the same profile works.
The actual bottom segment of the profile seems to disappear if a circular path is used.
I copied the profile (2D face), and tried it with a straight path, AND a curved arc, and it is fine.
It seems to be a problem when the bottom segment is joined with the surface of my disk which is formed by the circular path.

Using SU-2014. I hope I have explained this clearly...

      Regards,

Dan (who is getting frustrated on this....)
