RE: WTF Google?
Ennis is the centre of the universe!! Ireland is weirdly represented. They do have all the imagery but they wont release it for some god forsaken reason.

RE: Marathons etc
Were we separated at birth. I was told the exact same thing by a podiatrist over here. I knew my leg was shorter (1.5 inches) but that was due to a hurling incident! She was amazed that I was able to run at all. I was up to 22 miles when my body eventually packed in. I am unable to run any distance now but I cycle around 75 miles a week and hope to do a 120 mile cycle in June from Dublin to Magherafelt as part of a fund raising effort for the local GAA club.
Hope you keep at it and keep us posted of any crazy fell running exploits - those guys really are nuts!!

RE: Marathons etc
Hope the traiing is going well - you must be up near the 18 mile mark now. You are right about hydrating yourself - my training buddy went out on a long run once ad didnt hydrate properly and started hallucinating during the latter part of the run. Not smart. Keep it up and let us know how things are progressing.

RE: Ireland does have native reptiles!
As someone who grew up through the "troubles" - I would have a slightly different view of things than TIG and even Rich - this visit is a thank you for the billions of aid we are getting from the UK - and again Ireland will be sucking off the hind tit of England for another few years thanks to to ineptitude of the last Irish govt.
All I'll say is that we have a bloody short memory!
P.S. Those bastards who planted the bomb under that young policemans car last saturday a few miles from me did not kill him in my name!

RE: Blum slides
Dave, this is the link i used to get info on the product.
This is the link to a website in UK which gives you details of the software (Dynalog is the main heading and Dynaplan is a program that runs within it). It is not a free program for the full version. I paid over Β£100 for mine. THey used to do a light version but not sure if they still do it now. Hope it helps.

RE: Blum slides
Blum do a piece of software here in Europe called Dynaplan / Dynalog which they use to help design and specify slides / hinges for different applictions. The latest version allows the export of dwg files showing the components in the cabinet and drawn exactly as they are. Very handy when doing drawings of Blum fittings!!

RE: Design. Click. Build.
Never has this man (read Sketchup God) failed to deliver help and advice when I have asked. Both he and Tim Killen have enabled me to improve so much in modelling and then displaying my models to clients, and usually winning the business. Thanks Dave.

RE: Marathons etc
As they say over here Lee - "Keep 'er Lit!!" Look forward to seeing the miles get bigger and the times getting smaller. You will have a real sense of achievement after each long run. Good Luck.

RE: Using shapebender for a curved apron
Dave
Sorry for the late reply. As usual my friend you have come up trumps again!! Many Thanks.

RE: Marathons etc
I Look forward to hearing stories of your training exploits on here. Good Luck.
P.S. My friend just completed the Dublin marathon in 5hr 10mins - he had hoped to do a sub 4 hr but his legs packed in at the half way point and he just about made it home. Anyone who finishes a marathon deserves tremendous credit as it is a huge achievement.

RE: Using shapebender for a curved apron
Dave I would love to see how this is achieved also. I have a project for a students union TV studio desk and they want a curved apron at the front with lights behind the apron shining down on their logo. The desk has to be a specific size so just would like to see your approach to this.

RE: Marathons etc
Leedeetee - I lost about three stone in weight and alot of inches around the waist. Felt fantastic. Take it slowly - start run walking iniytially (30 secs running,90 secs walking 3 for 20 mins 3 times a week). There are loads of schedule you can follow - check out runners world site for great beginners advice. Running coupled with Slimming World will get you back into a very healthy lifestyle - brilliantly simple!
