      ok ERS is a young plugin and all ideas will be placed. this will need time. my dream is to work with SP and ERS together. 2009-2014 is a long time,too.

      how you would setup a train in SP? for example a steamloco, coupling cars, driving on the track etc.? how i could tell SP the loco have a weight and the cars have different weight?

      the starting speed is an other if the train is empty or when the train is loaded etc.
      this setup would be interesting.
      to simulate a real train start and train stop or when the train have an emergency break...how long need the train to stop. etc....

      ok an other example. i will simulate an earth quake.

      how i can tell SP this is a concrete block and this is a paperbox. both have a different gravity.

      than

      draw a line 1435mm
      groop loco and line
      use the tape measure tool

      pick the first point of the line

      go to the second point and click

      enter your targed gauge in measurements (left below)

      this scale down the scene.

      if you only want scale down the loco and other object 1:1

      do this

      build your loco 1:1

      than

      draw a line 1435mm

      groop loco and line

      GROOP AGAIN

      go in the groop (double click)

      use the tape measure tool

      pick the first point of the line
      go to the second point and click
      enter your targed gauge in measurements (left below)
      be happy

      if you need pictures or movie let me now

      Ah ok, what do you think about contacting the producer to have the right measure for Models like märklin, roco, fleischmann, mehano, piko etc.

      yes i know with the tape measure tool in sketchup you can do this, only a little problem

      1435mm / 87 = 16,49425287356322 and the real gauge in mm is 16,5mm (this is round up

      Z-Scale

      1435mm /220 = 6,522727272727273mm real gauge 6,5mm (this is round down)
      many MRR (model rail roader)

      build the own buildings, and railroad infrastructure.

      some have a 3d printer and make this. or have a 2d printer and print out a papercraft and gluing this. sometimes with texture,too or as painter with paint-brush etc.

      you see your plugin have a big possiblity, for all railroader ( model, simulator or real)

      what do you think about an IdeaPool for ERS?

      my feeling is, that i overburden Christina with my ideas and wishes,
      now i have find out that some features doesn´t work in 0.1.13 .

      have ruby the function to report what i do?

      what is the best way for the developer to find out whats happend.

      checklist?

      video/movie?

      ruby analyser (?)?

      error popup?

      have sketchucation a project portal?

      normally the developer is the project leader.

      than could the developer invite some friendly other developer to look at the problem to help. some problems can´t solve one person alone.

      next level for the project bugreports with ticket.

      the user send the bugreport... the project portal make a timestamp with consecutive number like this [_2014.07.27_10h36m54s_015_00800]

      i will say it again. ERS have a big potential.

      the base is: move an object from A to B. A to C along a path etc.
      change speed, direction, appearance etc

      objects can be: all what you can build or import in sketchup.
      locos (Engines), FreightCars, PassengerCars etc.
      Aircraft/Airplane,Boats, Ships, Animals.

      objects can have: subobjects, subobjects can be animated...
      Extrusion Profiles can be: Track, Bridges,Channels (waterway), Airway, Streets, Highway, Elevators/Lifts etc.

      Objects and Extrusion Profiles must have lowpoly design. e.g. ("exempli gratia") default track. for more information look in the wounderful manual.

      what i have written is for me the last option. temporair backup is sometimes helpful for me.

      Thematic balise and animated components (in your plugin).

      you have written in the Manual that i can insert code. can do this only a programer and what can the balise really.

      ok on your tabletop (your own homepage)a train can change color, speed etc.

      can a balise conected to a signal and a magnet? if i look at your tabletop i cant find the balise.

      balise will be visible.

      actually i have not blueprints about balises to build this exactly in sketchup.

      i can only use photos and a measure to find out how big is the object circa.

      ok i dont want simulate a 100% railway situation however in renderings and movies this looks better if i see that the signal switch back to RED/YELLOW/GREEN/WHITE/BLUE etc.

      a balise can change the color of the loco, or the headlight can switch to backlight etc, this could be possible for signals, too.

      in germany we have 3 different signalsystems

      HP HL KS

      HP origin western germany DB (Deutsche Bundesbahn old)

      HL eastern germany Deutsche Reichsbahn (DDR-GDR)

      KS is the newest system for DB Deutsche Bahn AG

      Semaphores will be possible in East and West.

      A german Locodriver must know all signals in this signal book.

      and a loco driver student must know the text,the names of the signals and the meaning like an actors the script for the movie.
      this is a hard work for the old man like me.

      Hallo, Deuschland, Schweiz und Österreich,

      und alle die native Speaker/Reader (einheimische?) sind.
      gibt es für Lightup4Sketchup schon eine deutsche übersetzung des Handbuches oder deutsche Tutorials die auch etwas in die Tiefe gehen?

      ich experimentiere schon bereits seit v.2.4 mit dem Programm und bekomme einige Sachen einfach nie hin.

      Ursprünglich war ich von den Ergebnissen der Webseite begeistert, aber Ernüchterung kam schon sehr schnell auf, als ich dann die ersten versuche gestartet hatte.

      Der Antwickler Adam Billard, hat ja ach ein paar gute Tutorials erstellt, aber seine Aussprache ist verdammt schwer zu verstehen.
      Vermutlich nutzt er ein Tischmikrofon und der Hall verschluckt dort Wörter die man nicht versteht, die aber wichtig sind um Zusammenhänge zu verstehen.

      hat sich jemand an dieses Thema schon einmal herangewagt oder kennt wirklich gute deutsche Tutorials, die die Thematik Sketchup und Lightup4Sketchup sehr gut beschreiben.

      Mir geht es darum, dass man die Renderergebnisse in ein Game überführt. Die Funktionen sind vorhandn, aber leider sind die erforderlichen Ergebnisse immer Zufall.

      Selbst mit gleichen Einstellungen, bekomme ich unterschiedliche Ergebnisse.

      Für eine Hilfreiche Antwort bin ich sehr dankbar.

      Was mir naturlich sehr missfällt ist die Umstellung des Lizensmodells.

      wenn ich zurückdenke, ging die Version 2 bis zur 2.7 die 3 ging dann plötzlich nur noch bis 3.3 was eine Planung der Kosten natürlich nicht wirklich vereinfacht.

      jetzt haben wir bereits die Version 4 und der breis ist zwar der selbe für ein Update aber die Zeitspanne hat sich nach meinem Gefühl verkürzt.

      Leider ist die Liste der Updates nicht immer aktuell und oft passierte es, dass ein update ein anderes Problem erzeugt hat oder ein positive dinge von der Vorversion, plötzlich nicht mehr funktionierten die dann wieder nachgebessert werden mussten.

      Ich schätze das Programm sehr und den Entwickler auch, aber ich bin mir jetzt unsicher ob ich mir jetzt die 4.x auch noch ans Bein binde.

      ich persönlich mache nichts comerziell bin allerdings auch kein Lehrer oder Student, so dass für mich die Lizenz irgend wann zu teuer wird.
      Bisher habe ich den Weg gescheut alles per bildschirmfotos zu machen und dann auf die objekte aufzutragen aber scheinbar bleibt mir da nichts anderes übrig.

      Leider bin ich zu ungeduldig und das kann natürlich auch nerven. Mein Projekt hätte schon längst fertig sein können, aber ohne Lightup dauert mir das noch länger (workflow).

      Ach ja das Game heisst einmal Trainz und das andere Trainsimulator.

      für Trainz gibt es sogar ein Sketchup-Plugin, was mir den Export sehr erleichtert.

      Die Thematik ist historisch angesiedelt, da man in Trainz und TS auch andere Dinge bewegen kann ausser Loks und Wagen etc.

      Für Trainz musste ich immer Schatten in Textur rendern um halbwegs plastisch darstellen zu können. Licht muss da auch gefaket werden, wo Lightup ins Spiel kam. die Umsetzung war nicht schlecht aber leider auch oft fehlerhaft, dank Lightup 😕

      So jetzt habe ich genug abgefrustet.

      Sorry aber ich bin ein wenig neben der Spur, weil die Ergebnisse nicht meinen Anforderungen und die des Games ensprechen. ich will ausschliessen dass der Fehler bei mir liegt und das geht natürlich nur wenn man das Programm auch wirklich bis in die Tiefe versteht.

      the most developer use notepad++ for pc.

      you can activate the compare plugin and compare the window and the mac version.

      im not sure could be that the mac version need some lines different code, to solve the problem.

      if Christina send you a small bugfix for your mac, this will not mean, that you bugfix the pc version.

      i recommend that you deinstall the pc version and install the newest again.

      if this doesn´t solve your problem, deactivate all plugins and let activated the railroad plugin. look what happend.

      when you have no errors, switch on the plugins step by step (dont forget to restart sketchup.

      here i have no problems with dialogue-windows.

      Trainz is an australian game with routs in AUS,USA,GBR,SWE,GER,FRA,RUS etc.
      the Game TS 2014 (2015) have routs in USA GBR,;FRA,CHN and in the next version YPN,too.

      you must know that blueprints of the GERMAN ICE is not opensource and normally you must pay a license when you show the ICE in your plugin.

      i think the best way is to contact DB Deutsche Bahn and ask.

      you must tell, that your project isn´t commercial and you will show kids how i build my railroad in 3d.
      AND you and the kids love the ICE. 😉

      the same you must write to the british railway etc. this sound in the ears better when you doining somethings with passion and love.

      you must know that i was loco driver student and this was very difficult to become any pages in pdf etc.
      i would would therefore recommend that you contact any users in the rail-sim.de forum or in the main auran forum.
      you can find there a woman ( Sandra-Marion/rail-sim.de). when you need support for a german translation for letters and contact i could help you...however you must do it by your self.
      i dont know what you need.

      normally the first address for me is the 3d warehouse than safe all side views with measures as pictures and build your loco,airplain,ship or what ever.

      some designer for games that give away freeware parts you could contact,too.

      here i could help in german language,too.

      however some designers could tell you, freeware is not free..you can this use for free in the game, its strictly forbidden to recompile etc.

      you must know, that i have 2-3 years to investigate,research for the BerlinWallProject.

      i have contacted Soldiers of the EAST GERMAN BORDER PATROLS to become any background knowhow about this.
      ok this is and was a very sad political theme/topic.

      normally, a Berlin People don´t search contact to the soldiers of the(Grenztruppen ( East German Border Patrol).

      cool idea, this will be the future.

      the architect build the house in sketchup, send the skp file to the customer and he send this to a housebuilder.

      i dont want ask how many peoples will lost the job, how ever the idea is perfect for the 3th-world.

      some parts of the bridge will be possible however the suspender cables ,the tower and pier will not possible.
