I had a happy accident with the artisan tools
Its getting close to what i need now, It just needs a flatter bottom.

RE: Organic egg chair help?
Thanks for the good tips
My first attempt was with the boolean cutout, but i think i had too many faces, i'll try again with a simpler model.
I still need lots more practice with artisan, things never seem to look how i intend them to.I'll post again when i've made something that looks better

Organic egg chair help?
I've started to model an egg chair thinking it would be easy to make, i was wrong
I'm having trouble with the two recessed cut outs at the base of the chair, what would be the best way to model these?
I have the artisan tools but only know enough about them to get myself in trouble. -
RE: PhotoMatch Strangeness
The prop was rigged to explode just after this shot was taken, it looked like it was just pushed together for a quick shot, and they probably used a wide angle lense...I'll stick to practicing on houses

RE: PhotoMatch Strangeness
Its a prop from the movie Terminator 2.
I was photmatching it to see if the measuerments i have match up with the on screen prop.I read that with photomatch its best to use a photo with the corner of the building in the centre of the photo, so this photo isn't a great image to work with.
Photomatch works fine when i try to use it for buildings, its nice to know it might not be me doing something wrong and i can blame it on an unsuitable photo
This is what i modelled with the measuerments i found.

RE: PhotoMatch Strangeness
I recreated the file and attacked it to this post, its a very basic one cube model, but its does have the same camera strangness happening.
One horizontal axis is out of proportion with the other axis, creating a oblong. Is ther a way to adjust a single axis scale?

RE: PhotoMatch Strangeness
I didn't save the model, i'll use same photo again and try to recreate it the problem.

PhotoMatch Strangeness
I use a space navigator with sketchup but when modelling something with photomatch the camera feels over sensitive, almost like the camera is far away from the model and zoomed in. Any ideas what happening here? something about the scale of the model?
Photomatch has also been doing some weird things too.
The blue axes flipped upside down, and no mater what I tried I couldn't unflip it.
I closed the window and started fresh and everything worked fine the second time.Does photo match have some odd bugs that would cause this or am I just doing something wrong?
