I've started to model an egg chair thinking it would be easy to make, i was wrong 😐

I'm having trouble with the two recessed cut outs at the base of the chair, what would be the best way to model these?
I have the artisan tools but only know enough about them to get myself in trouble.

It looks like you've got a good start. I'd round over the edge of that box shape to match the radius of the curve on the original. Then run Intersect on the geometry and delete the waste. You'll need to cut that box shape flush with the front of the egg. You could use Push/Pull to push the near end face in to the front of the egg and that should take care of it.

By the way, I would only model half of this and then copy and flip to make the opposite side.

With Artisan you can try to start like this...

Thanks for the good tips πŸ˜„

My first attempt was with the boolean cutout, but i think i had too many faces, i'll try again with a simpler model.
I still need lots more practice with artisan, things never seem to look how i intend them to.

I'll post again when i've made something that looks better πŸ˜„

You can try making model 100x bigger before cutout

Its getting close to what i need now, It just needs a flatter bottom.
