Thanks Oli for the awesome tut.
I'll definetly try them out.

Feel free to do anything you like and totally love the adjusments.

Great forum work mate!

If these are what you call simple studio tests, I have a long way to go.
Ditto
These are awesome...my only crit is the tip of the smokestack on the right should be higher poly...or maybe there is a reversed face there...
Thanks d12dozr.
I would definetly love to spend more time with the models.
Just render to test out a couple of lights and preset quality.
Materials and models still remain an issue.
Btw..any tips on smoothing or modelling would be appreciated.

Excellent work.
A couple of guys in the forum would definetly tell you how simple it is.
I was about to give up on car render some weeks back. Strange?
So for this test, the studio setup yield much better result for me.
Anyway I really hope to come up sumthin more different next time.
Hi Rambola, it's a interesting project and being small in scale, you should post some layout plans to see how it flows.
At the moment it looks promising.
Add the curve plane and putting all together.
Thanks for the kind comments guys!

Out here, we call those Hummer Recovery Units.
Thanks Roger! and I learn something new !
Here's one more similar shot..though not as good..for a friend in the forum.
@ Ultimatez 32 - it's studio hdr...black and white.
I do all my renders with KT unbiased.
I practice renders with Twilight, Vray, Hypershot and hopefully Thea..soon!
@ solo - what you guys did for the beta was awesome, the monster was an epic.
In fact my studio setup was a long story or used to be much of a dissapointment.
Until recently I saw a couple of shots on Thea that gives me some idea how easily it could be done.
@ 21D - thanks for the tips...definetly the bevel or round edges would do wonders, love to try them out.

what render? all i can see is your avatar.
As for the material - maybe some brushed metal instead of a too shiny one would do.
I don't see much problem with the mats...but the Avatar!
Hi scottpara, looks awesome and great modelling as well.
Just thought a couple of issues with the sofa and the blankey and probably the twig above the bed is a little bit distracting.
Other than that the biased preset didn't really AA out that well.
Probably unbiased method would do better justice to the models.
But the long render time is a big drawback.
Certainly looks interesting to me.
Definetly love to see the final works or render.

tks massimo and majid im agree the images are grainy, but i dont know what is the paramemter to fix
appreciate the coments
Very nice render, esp the first.
I'm just asking if you got the Absolut bottle from the Warehouse?
I'm looking for the same type of bottle, a much better version from the warehouse.
Any ideas?
About the noise, hope I am give you tips, but I don't render with Vray.
But try looking for noise threshold, probably lowering them will help.
Nice render Rcos!
Definetly you've been progressing really well with the renderings.
Just thought adding couple of lights to the lamps might be interesting and probably after that you can share some setting tips as well.

how come you are using MLT preset? what's the advantage?..
as I know, there are no really alternatives for a interior nightime shot. apart MLT gives the best result in terms of realism, biased methods need very high settings to resolve the complexity of lights and reflections. perhaps wait anyhow 10 hours or more, and finally find the picture full of white dots...
no thanks
MLT being unbiased is physically accurate but better tweaks on lightings are necessary esp for night shots. Probably can halves the noise and the rendering hrs.
Biased presets, ie Photon Map..would looks somewhat different compared, but decent rendering time is possible. But tweaking the presets is a tough call for most users IMHO.
Also couple of color or curves adjusments PP are needed to make the image look right.
Probably can achieve somewhat closer to what QMC GI can produce.
Btw..MLT is equivalent to preset #9 for TL
