@ 21D - thanks for the tips...definetly the bevel or round edges would do wonders, love to try them out.
-
@ solo - what you guys did for the beta was awesome, the monster was an epic.
In fact my studio setup was a long story or used to be much of a dissapointment.
Until recently I saw a couple of shots on Thea that gives me some idea how easily it could be done. -
@ Ultimatez 32 - it's studio hdr...black and white.
I do all my renders with KT unbiased.
I practice renders with Twilight, Vray, Hypershot and hopefully Thea..soon! -
Out here, we call those Hummer Recovery Units.

Thanks Roger! and I learn something new !
Here's one more similar shot..though not as good..for a friend in the forum.
-
Add the curve plane and putting all together.
Thanks for the kind comments guys!

If these are what you call simple studio tests, I have a long way to go.
Excellent work. -

Ditto
These are awesome...my only crit is the tip of the smokestack on the right should be higher poly...or maybe there is a reversed face there...

Excellent work.A couple of guys in the forum would definetly tell you how simple it is.
I was about to give up on car render some weeks back. Strange?
So for this test, the studio setup yield much better result for me.
Anyway I really hope to come up sumthin more different next time. -

Thanks d12dozr.
I would definetly love to spend more time with the models.
Just render to test out a couple of lights and preset quality.
Materials and models still remain an issue.Btw..any tips on smoothing or modelling would be appreciated.

nice work dspace. although maybe make them a bit brighter? seem a little dull at the moment with the neutral background....maybe im wrong i dunno!
great stuff anyway...and sweet rims
-
sorry...like this. i hope you don't mind....a picture says a thousand words etc
2 minute photoshop: levels, high pass filter, vertical gradient and vignette. there is some sly colour banding but it doesn't matter, i didnt bother covering it up.
its just a bit more 'punchy' now
the render is very nice to work with.

For hunks like you.....oops..
Feel free to do anything you like and totally love the adjusments.
Btw..I rem some tut you did with heavy vignette..isit the quasi thing?..care to share more info on that.
-
several ways of doing it, here is the simplest (non-destructive) method
-
New Layer
-
Fill with White
-
Filter>Distort>Lens Correction
-
Vignette (adjust the sliders)
-
When happy with amount of vignette click OK/apply
-
Change Blending Mode of this layer to 'Multiply'
-
You can always duplicate the vignette layer to make it more heavy or reduce its opacity to lessen the effect....
hunk? lol

Just use Eraser+control key and run over those sharp corners to smooth them. If you are drawing from scratch, increase the segments of your arcs/circles.
