Few more questions..thanks for the previous answers! They helped greatly.

When editing a group or component, is there a keyboard shortcut to 'back out' of edit mode? I know double-clicking a white space works, as does deselecting the component in the outline window. But if I'm in real close, and I don't have the outline window open, how can I 'escape' out of the group I'm currently 'in'?

Is there any way to turn off the snap mode when moving an object? Sometimes, I'm in top view and I just want to rearrange things, and not have objects try and snap to each other.

I'm pretty sure the answer to this one is 'No', but it never hurts asking. Is there any 4-view for SU (top, left, right, perspective)?

Is there a way to 'see' a scene camera? If I want to place objects around the camera, I can't see where it is.

That's all for now. Thanks a bunch πŸ˜„

    • How to view a group or object's material?

Hi. Newbie here. Actually not that much of a newbie, as I've used SketchUp to model for years, but now I'm trying to set materials for Groups and Polys and I can't figure out how to view an object's (poly or group) material settings later-- after it's been set.

I open the Materials editor and leave the Edit tab open but when I select different groups and/or polys, the Materials palette doesn't change. Is it supposed to? If not, how does one 'edit' the material from an object? By using the eyedropper...seems slow. A better idea or something I'm just not getting?

      TIA, Chipp

    • RE: Podium light and texture tests

Great renders indeed. May I ask what sort of lighting rig you used for setting them up? Did you use your dome model, or just a black background with a few point light groups? TIA,
      Chipp
