    • RE: [Plugin] Layer manager

      Hello all,

      I have a question...

Am I looking for a plugin to turn one major layer group or component with different layers and groups inside to one layer!?!?! I don't know if I did right the question...
Like everything inside this major group or component (including sub-groups, lines, faces with different layers) will turn to one layer (major layer)
I'm using the old version of LM_v6 and looks like don't have a way to do it. I don't know if this new version LM_v21 allow me to do that...
      Thanks

I assume you aren't trying to work on the whole 50Mb of geometry !
Make the part you want to bend into a component.
Do a Save_as on it into an external 'part' SKP.
Open that much smaller SKP and run the tool.
If it still fails perhaps it's a physical size issue - very tiny or very gigantic geometry ? If so try using the native tool to Scale the part-model by 10 or 100, process and then Scale back to the original size.
Assuming you get the bending done, save the part-model, then in the main model 'Reload' the component - the updated 'part' will adjust to show its new form...

Thanks TIG, I'm gonna do that. It's a tricky smart choice

Hi Fredo, I'm expecting some crashes sometimes when I'm using the Fredo scale, especially when the file is a little big, like more than 50mb. I'm a mountain lion mac user and I don't know if it's normal, I always save the document before use it, but if you can give me some advice is gonna be great, thanks...

Hi Fredo, I have been using the FredoScale on my Imac OS 10.5 (Leopard) without any problem.
I change it for a new Imac OS 10.7 (Lion) and FredoScale crashes a lot, I'm not sure whats happening...
Could you help me with this issue!??!?!

Anyway, the FredoScale is the best plugin ever...

I don't know too much, except that there have been many problem reported with OS X Lion. I think they are somehow solved with SU8 M2.

Anyway, it would be good to give some details on the circumstances of the crashes you have.

      Fredo

I'll keep you posted, thanks for your time and consideration

Hi I'm a Mac osx Leopard user and I proceed with the download and the installation following the manual and after done I can't see the LibFredo settings on the SU Windows menu.
Anybody have experienced the same, have some different trick for Mac users installation?
      Thanks.

I found what I'm doing wrong, first of all after install the LibFredo i was trying to open on SU windows menu, no way... You must need install another Fredo plugin to work the LibFredo, After I realize that I go ahead and install FredoScale, after download both you have to copy/paste in both cases the folders (LibFredo6_Dir_34 and Fredoscale_Dir_20) and the (LibFredo6.rb and Zloader_Fredoscale.rb) inside the MacHD/Library,Application Support/GoogleSketchup7/plugins/
But the trick is that both file.rb need to be inside its respective folders.
After I did it, I open the SU and there it is, both working properly...
The FredoScale is really good, Thanks Fredo!
