I'm on Win7 64 bit with the latest Sketchup build.
The attached file is from Jason Marantos RAL Librairie for Maxwell.
When applying it causes a bugsplat and Sketchup imidiately quit.
Can someone try if this happens on other Systems too?

Easy to use for Products shots,Exteriors too ( HDRI ), Furnitures and anything else which contains no separate lighting.
Also a great Materialeditor included...the easiest I've seen around.
But hard to manage with Interiors

The Maxwell Materials are special characters which can be changed in the Material Editor.
For Sketchup Materials you just can use the embedded Materials like Metal,AGS....
I asked for an advanced setting tab, where you can setup some global settings like reflection, refrection, bumpmap,....
But it was mentioned that it will be extended by time and it's not prior on the list. So you can only use the settings from the embedded Material or the mxm ones.

Make sense, but it is not that I would like to see in Interior. For me the first modes are much better in terms of lighting. In high quality I then need some interior lights to lit up the scene and that is not implemented.
That means high quality is not really usefull for me. Sadly...

LumenRT works like a charm here. Tested it on a shop interior model in Draft and Standart mode.
Curious, in Superior mode the lighting inside is much darker, although it should be a better quality.
I will make a test on Extreme as well.

I posted at the vue registered forum about a switch from Mac to PC with vue studio bundle and the Sketchup exporter.
Never get a respond. Maybe Dave can do some explanation.
Do I need another license?
I own the Version 8 Studio Bundle, but want to upgrade now.
There is no bundle update listed, so I have to update to vue 10 and the exporter as well?

JD will be as fast as ever. In the Maxwellforum you will find the actual Plugin before it is official announced.
But no Road Map.

You're going wrong with that.
I have no clue about IDX.
But for Maxwell you should take a look at the Settings. You have predefined Materials. No need to use MXM Materials from the Resource side only.
You have an inbuild Material Editor, too.
Take a look at all these settings and the manual first.
About grainy renders:
You have a small limitation in the free Version ( Draft Mode) Buy the small license and it will be better.( Production Mode)
Second is you can set the samples in the Fire Window Preferences. Higher means less noisy.
And at least, Maxwell is unbiased. That means it took longer than biased engines.
No direct comparsion between both.

The Path should be Plugin>Maxwell>sl

Not sure about the installation process. But do you use the right bit Version for your PC?

About the Mainstream like V-ray....
Have you ever teached Autocad users to Sketchup? They only ask me why Sketchup has not this or that function and tend
to make Sketchup to be a primitive Software. They are often sluggish to change the way of thinking. No offending, but I have my autocad spinsters along my courses So Autocad will be the leader in the next years...that's mainstream.
But that's in general with human thinking.
V-Ray stays longer on the market and have a great customer community. So it is Mainstream, too. In the Render Community, where Professionals are working, the names are beside each other. Who needs speed tend to V-Ray, who needs quality tend to Maxwell.( biased and unbiased are quite different to compare ) The V-Ray comunity is larger by nature, not more.
You'll find a lot of Help for V-Ray - here in the Forum too. Let's say single supported

I thought the same about Maxwell and be on the track to learn it deeper. Now the Pluggin is really well implemented- thanks to JD- and well documented - thanks Jason too - so it makes it a lot easier now. Although - shame to me - I'm Maxwell owner since the alpha stages

@dereeei - I was asked how to import in Sketchup with textures. These files are only in dxf and 3ds.People are often lazy to change their ways

Long time ago I played with these file types. But now I was asked about importing dxf or 3ds objects into Skletchup, but with textures. Is there an option for importing the textures too?

Don't make the thread public. Sketchup starts to loose the simpleness when people see all those toolbars.
Time for a new UI and a better integrated workflow for all the Plugins.

Seriously, you can't really change the UI differently from others. Mostly it depends on what people like to have on plugins and what Monitors are used. It just shows a full of Icon application.

...and the new Plugin contains now Fire, the Renderpreview directly in Sketchup.

You can see all files as small tumbnails. It reads different files and you can also save them as different. Also convert files with batch command or polygon reduce with batch command and much more is possilbe. I could not be without it!

Skp files are only for 32 bit available

Deaktiviere einfach die Firewall und probiere es nochmal.
Einstellungen verändern kannst du dann immer noch, wenn es dann daran liegt.
