    • RE: Looking for work-around for Scale Tool

Is this perhaps this script written by the notorious Fredo? I recently was successful in using his Bezier Splines Script. Absolutely amazing!

Thanks Dave R for this lead! I let you know and post a reply once I have installed and tested the script. By the way, is there a good central location where scripts and plug-ins are located for download?

    • Looking for work-around for Scale Tool

      Hi,

I've been using SU for years but I am new to this forum. My question is this...is there a way to scale a component (distort/shrink/stretch) in a similar way that you can with a simple cube. For example: After making a cube (before selcting all faces of the cube and creating a component) you can select the top face a then scale this 2d portion to create a four-sided taper/pseudo pyramid. Please understand, I'm not trying to create a simple pyramid but only using the above as an example. What I have is a table base made from various components. The entire table base has been converted into a component. What I am trying to accomplish is to distort/shrink/stretch only a particular face (top) of the grouped component. The scaling tool allows many options but does not allow me this particular editting function. Is there a work around? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
