Based on your uploaded model, all you need to do is select all of the geometry and make it a component or group and SketchUp it'll be shown as "solid". Did you try that? At the upper left of the screen it should tell you whether you are using pro or Make.

well i feel stupid, i originally had 3d text on my model, so i guess that was the problem -_-

      skp file attached.

If I build a rectangle and pad up, I am able to use the solid tools, but that is only on basic shapes. Idk which version I got, I was linked this via shapeways haha

Hopefully you can help me with this problem, I've been trying to find a solution for the past 3 hours 😞

    • "not a solid" Subtract tool help

Hi guys, i new to SU and need some help.

In my drawing you can see it rectangular shape with lower levels. I want to cut out some pieces with the subtract tool, but it keeps saying my shape is not a solid or it is "locked". Ive tried fixitSolid plugins and nothing seems to work.

The red rectangles are parts I want to cut out. The top red mark is a cut out I want to make flush with the lowest level.

      Someone please help!
