    • RE: SKindigo license policy problem

      Hey guys,

Sorry for the late reply. My response is that our licencing system isn't perfect. We've had requests for floating licences, personal licences, site licences, concurrent use licencing and more. We've decided to change how our licencing works. We haven't decided how exactly it's going to work yet - but trust us that we understand your qualms and we will be sorting it. πŸ˜„

For now it works really well where you have one main render pc and two render slaves set up. If you want to do set-up work on your laptop, you can use the free version of Indigo for all your testing purposes, then use your main PC to start rendering the final.

Dale has done some amazing stuff with SketchUp recently, and we're constantly improving it. Indigo is the best quality unbiased renderer IMHO and on par with Maxwell for speed, I think learning SkIndigo is probably the best thing you could do to increase your ability to generate top-quality visualizations. πŸ˜„

    • Bryce in a church

This is just a quick demo of doing rays of light in Indigo - but I thought it came out quite nice. It looks like Bryce went to church. This is a crop from a larger image that has been rendering for 10 minutes.

      Hi,

Last night, I have downloaded and tried the INDIGO renderer. I used the standard settings for the scene below. The Time required for this scene was amazing, about 1.5 hours.

Then I rendered the same scene with Kerkythea with the preset no.3 (PhotonMap-Quick). The Time required for this scene was about 5 Minutes. Below you can compare the results.

These kind of scenes don't really show the speed of Indigo. You want to compare two interior scenes that are purely lit by sunlight. And include the set-up time of each renderer. Indigo might win that race. ;D

    • RE: Indigo site

Yup - sorry about that, we were having some downtime last week. We've got monitoring on the site now so it should be more robust.

    • RE: Indigo Renders...

Basically unbiased means no approximations, so slower but more accurate. The hardest part of writing an unbiased renderer is making it happen fast. πŸ˜„

    • New tutorials for sketchup + indigo

      😎 Yo.

We've posted a new tutorial for sketchup + indigo.

      http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/download/file.php?id=8418

We've got a bunch of sample images generated from sketchup here...

Or see the attached image by Pibuz! (Our favourite Italian SketchUp artist).

(If you haven't seen Indigo before, it's a raytracing plugin for SketchUp. Indigo is free for hobbyist users)
