These are from a 3d model viewer, they look the same in game.

RE: Naval Cutter "Alert" 1777
Well Shes almost there,All baked up and looking gorgeouse in game
,Baking took about 8 hours to do a total of 12 bakes ,8 2048 x 2048 and 4 1024 x 1024. Just have to fit the one glass window and the longboat,im not quite happy with the longboat, might add some more details and rebake,it being seperate makes it easy to modify, might even get a more attractive 18ft Jolly on there.

RE: Naval Cutter "Alert" 1777
Thanks Krisidious, She still has some work before she is finnished, Baking will be the last and most rewarding step.
The Game can be found here, She will be available for both Virtual sailor 7 and Vehicle simulator ( More for Vehicle sim as it is has the latest engine and looks way better )

RE: Naval Cutter "Alert" 1777
Its been a wile since ive done anything on her,but its time to finnish her up.
Sail Textures have been made and added on, this is a tiresome task that involves modeling the ropes and all the details on each sail, then Baking the texture, then fitting the texture to the sail mesh.
Im happy with the way it turned out,all Dirty and old looking is my style.

a few more updates. also want to note no image maps are used for the end result. all decals and parts are made via poly.

Ouch! Its really a simple process adding the images onto the model, cutting the face has al sorts of implications,or is there a specific reason behind it? Btw nice bike

RE: Tank Museum UPDATE - new renders
After having a look at one of these tanks and trying out a render,I am very impressed with the level of detail here, perfect for renders,Although some have incorrect normal alignment wich needs to be adjusted

RE: Naval Cutter "Alert" 1777
Hi Saw,
I did not use any plugins for the hull,Its just texturing etc. nothing fancy,A hip like the Lusitania`s hull would be tricky and require a Texture made for it.
Dave as im sure you are aware that this is a game model and in reality the Ribs are not visable,I have modeled The full ribs on ships like these before but it is alot of work for something that will later be removed.
About the sails I am also aware of it,the pictures shown are incorrect, its abit tricky to make cloth fold around a line in a game as you will also notice when she is on a close haul her main square intersects the shrouds and on a run the Gaff intersects the Backstays as well,I have found a way to control this in game but still needs tweaking. Thanks

RE: RAILWAY DRAWING
Hehe seen alot of these, They are still around Dolfus armed with Salt air Rifles, burns like crazy if they catch u walking around on the lines hehe

RE: Naval Cutter "Alert" 1777
Well its time for her to officially get wet, the sails have been fitted in game and shes good to go,still need to add the sail texture and the footropes etc to the spars, but the worst of its over, the bowsprit being offset slightly to her port makes setting the Jib tricky but not impossible, the Staysail is centred as its Line comes off the stem head ( BONUS! )
Ive set the sails in game in a way so that you can choose your own sail setup,The main squaresail and the T`gallant share a File while all the rest are induvidual.

RE: Naval Cutter "Alert" 1777
Boom and Gaff is in place and rigged, sails are modeled but not textured yet, this is a lenghty proccess, this entire ship was made without any plugins apart from the sails.

-
RE: Naval Cutter "Alert" 1777
Well closeup the textures did reveal another story and looked pretty horrible before she was painted,Shes all lined up now

Standing Rigging added,Running rig will be minimal as the Game does not support it (hint hint) ,mast fitted perfectly into its step and nothing needed to be adjusted on the decks to straigten it up this time

Main boom and Gaff are lying on the deck and will be fitted shortly along with all her spars.
A cutaway render will be posted next time
,Bear in mind that in reality Ships like these were launched when the hull was complete,The armament, masts,Rigging and sails were all done afloat.

RE: RAILWAY DRAWING
Nice Machines Dolphus,as for the spoornet themes...Yea right as if we would ever get something like that, thought of modeling shoshaloza carriages?
-
RE: Barracks
Awesome! This will look great Rendered in a night scene with lighting ,smoke etc.
-
RE: Next For The Chop
Hehe I only noticed because ive had this problem many time, for work ive had to model many buildings from Photos using google earth as the footprint, this problem is the worst of them as old buildings have weird heights

-
RE: Next For The Chop
Hi Tadema,Awesome building well done, only 1 thing ive noticed,If the provided picture is correct in ratio,Then Just by looking at your renders you can spot that the floors are to short, the windows for instance seem much Taller to ratio with the overall hight of the building thus making your model appear slightly "fatter" compared to the pic.
-
RE: Naval Cutter "Alert" 1777
Thanks guys,Ive been itching to build one of these without any regard for poly`s (without being stupid about it of course) but the only use for it would be renders, maybe ill take on a project like that in the future.
All Bolts added,These will be deleted after the baking process, they will leave little black spots on the texture to appear as bolts in game,And the 18ft Cutter boat added,Still not happy with the textures, will play around abit

RE: Naval Cutter "Alert" 1777
