    • RE: Lines distorted after exploding a group

      So I found an answer.
SketchUp has an internal tolerance of 0.0254mm (0.001 inch). It merges endpoints with distances less than 0.0254 mm apart.

My model needs an accuracy of 0.001mm

The suggestion that I got was to use meters and pretend that they are millimeters.

    • Lines distorted after exploding a group

There are two lines that meets in the end. One of the line is in a group. If I try to explode a group - two lines merges way before they meet in the end.
Is there any way to avoid this when exploding?

    • How would you approach this situation?

      Hello everyone,

I'm working on my model and came across this situation:

I would like Segment R (starting from the Point A and ending on the Point P) to follow the curve in Z plane (Curve H).
So it would tilt down and follow the curve. Any ideas?

    • RE: Extrude tapered object

Thank you for an advice! But I tried those options already, unsuccessfully.

I need high precision, and this part that you see already - can’t be distorted. It has to be extended in perspective. I can’t scale and move because part is not going to end up right. If I’m thinking right - ends of the finished part are not just scaled down cross section (at least one of them)

    • Extrude tapered object

      Hello everyone!

I would like to know if there is a straightforward approach for extruding along two tapered rails an object that is rather unusual in shape?

I have two cross sections of the part, but those sections are taken not at the ends of the part. I can easily create a surface between those two faces using Curviloft, but is there an easy way to pull them further? I know how to do it manually, but it's hell of the work while curves are made of so many segments.
