I am trying out the Sketchup free version. I am looking for how to do rounded rectangles. I found this:

Error 404 (Not Found)!!1

(sketchup.google.com)

But that is with the 'Pro' version.

So do I understand from this that rounded rectangles can only be easily done with the 'Pro' version?

Sure, you can use Sketchup to create icons, in fact all of the tool icons that come with Sketchup are created in 3D in Sketchup. You'll probably want to use a rendering program to add lighting effects and shininess, as that is something Sketchup cannot do.

Hi all,

I am looking for a tool to create 3-D icons. Is SketchUp the right tool for this? Seems to me that SketchUp is optimized for architecture. I am comparing this with GIMP.
