Cool! I'm attaching the kmz file, and as I am not completely sure what I am doing , I'm also attaching a screenshot of the area I need...just in case.
Many thanks.

Superb! Thank you so much for your help - opened up with sketchup and it's working a dream.
Have a great day Gaieus!

Wow, Gaieus - that would be a huge help to me.
I'm going to ask a silly question now - I have made a placemark in the center of the land area I need - what file format do I save it in, to post on this site? I'm just thinking that you need something that gives you the coordinates, no?
Sorry about these questions
Annabel
Hey Gaieus,
Thanks very much for replying to my post - I really appreciate that.
Do you mean that you will move my post to the bug section, or should I do it?
Thanks again,
Annabel
Hi Guys,
My first post here on SketchUcation, and I'm afraid it's a real newbie question!
I have a basic understanding of Sketchup and have built a few 3d houses over the time, but now urgently need to take 'a current view' of google earth and put it into Sketchup.
But no matter what I try, when I find the location I want on GE, and in Sketchup I: google earth>get current view, I always receive a window saying the following:
'Google SketchUp is unable to connect to Google Earth. Please make sure Google Earth is installed, running, and connected (you are able to see the Earth). Close and restart SketchUp, and then click Get Current View again. If it still doesn't work, please search the Help Center for 'SketchUp is unable to connect to Google Earth.'
I've tried searching the help center and online, and have had no success whatsoever.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.3, Sketchup 7 (7.0.8656) and Google Earth 5.
Any assistance you could give me would be very much appreciated. Many thanks
Annabel.
