Hide the rest of model and show the immediate context only
I have a question unresolved for a long time.
Let me suppose that there are groups within groups which I do normally for architectural design work.
When I draw a line from a point in 2nd deep group(top) to a point in 1st deep group(middle), what I do is to go deepest to the 2nd deep group and toggle 'hide the rest of model' to clearly see the starting point of the line. Then, toggle 'hide the rest of model' again expecting to see the end point of the line in 1st deep group, but all I can see is like the image on bottom, not the image in the middle and then, I can't find the point due to the objects overlapped.
It would be fantastic if there is a ruby script enabling to toggle between hide the rest of model and 'show the immediate context only'.
In case there are more groups involved than 2nd deep level, 'show the rest of model cycling all the contexts of the groups' seems to be perfect.
I think this happens all the time for architects.
Please, help me direct to find the solution.
Thanks a lot

RE: Hide rest of model
I found hideEverythingElse.rb
http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=31825
It looks like what I'm looking for.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work in my SU2015
I'll post when I get an answer from the author. -
Hide rest of model
Hi there,
I know how to hide the rest of model and understand its usefulness.
But I definately want to hide(unhide) the rest of group.
Let me explain in detail.
When I'm editing objects in a group and trying to hide the rest of model, sketchup hides everything except for the objects that i'm editing. Sometimes I unhide the rest of model but everything turns back on, so I cannot see the object due to being overlapped with other objects.
Since I prefer to work with groups, this problem is too inconvenient to me.
Is there anyone who knows unhide not the rest of model, but only the rest of things in the group which the active objects belong to?Thanks
