    Hi there,
I know how to hide the rest of model and understand its usefulness.
But I definately want to hide(unhide) the rest of group.
    Let me explain in detail.
When I'm editing objects in a group and trying to hide the rest of model, sketchup hides everything except for the objects that i'm editing. Sometimes I unhide the rest of model but everything turns back on, so I cannot see the object due to being overlapped with other objects.
Since I prefer to work with groups, this problem is too inconvenient to me.
Is there anyone who knows unhide not the rest of model, but only the rest of things in the group which the active objects belong to?

    Thanks

You can use the "Hide" command for that. Just know -- if that is raw geometry It could be affected by your operation.

I like having a hotkey for "hide rest of model" to flick it on and off as I work.

I've been asking for this for years. Doesn't get a lot of traction. To be able to hide/unhide the whole of the model except in the next higher up nested object in a group or component. .. that woud be sweet.

If I make it look easy...It is probably easy

          That would be nice.

Have you tried the "Hide all unselected" extension?

You click on the items you want visible, click this command and you only have the items you need visible. Works great for me inside groups and componets.

Unfortunately, the extension is "Select by Material, and Hide All Unselected", not just "Hide All Unselected"

It looks like what I'm looking for.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work in my SU2015
I'll post when I get an answer from the author.

Why do you say it doesn't work? I just installed it in SU2016 and it appears to work as described. If it works in SU2016 it will work in SU2015.

This found that it works fine.
