We have:
• Windows 10 V.21H2
• SketchUp Pro 2021 standalone license (Tremble had to create a special license for us to run our computer offline without having to ping their server every 28 days on the internet)
• Paid for Fredo6 bundle purchased & downloaded in May/June 2022
• SketchUcation Tools 4.2.9
• License Manager U5.7a-50
• LibFredo6 12.9a
We have 2 issues.
The first is, we have installed all 8 programs in the Fredo6 bundle, & having to go through special permissions from our IT department, connect the computer to the internet momentarily and activated all 8 programs. We followed all the instructions and all 8 seem to register just fine, populating the activation screen for each one with all the correct information (albeit, the number of seats taken, that’s issue 2 I will get to in a moment) & saying activated. We then tried out each plug-in, and each worked just fine without the pop-up saying that the trial period had expired. We then shut down SketchUp and logged out of that user and got onto another Windows user account, and repeated the process for that user on their SketchUp, taking seat 2. All seemed to work on both profiles. Unfortunately, we went back to the first main user, ran SketchUp again, and tried the plug-ins, and now they didn’t work. They were all saying trial expired again. Thinking maybe setting up the second user did something to the first; we went back to the secondary account and released the seats on all 8 plugins. Then went back to the first and re-activated each plug-in, making sure each one worked after activation. They all seemed to work. We then thought everything was good to go so we un-connected the computer from the internet and told IT we were done. Well, those plug-ins lasted about 3 or 4 days working just fine as they should, then all of a sudden we come in one day and then none of them worked again. Once again saying trial period expired. Well, we contacted our IT and had to wait 3 or 4 weeks before they had time to let us hook up to the internet and try again. This time we activated all of them again, tested them out and they worked. We shut down SketchUp re-opened and they still worked. So thinking once again everything was fine. We told IT we were done, and took the computer offline. This time the plug-ins lasted a couple of weeks just fine. Then once again, we turned everything on, and again, none of the plug-ins worked anymore, saying trial expired. Viewing the history logs it is not showing the seat deactivated or released or anything. The last entries are each plugin activated. We are not altering any license files or any files for that matter. It just keeps losing its activation. So, for a third time we are having to ask our IT to connect the computer to the internet to re-activate the licenses. We have even tried uninstalling the plug-ins and re-installing them. Are we doing something wrong or is there a bug somewhere or what? We are running and getting Windows Updates at the same time we are trying to fix these issues. Are these updates somehow affecting the licensing of these programs? Hopefully, we have a resolution to our problems from this group before we get our IT on board and do our next attempt, so we can fix anything if we are doing something wrong.
Secondly, as mentioned above, when we released the second user profiles seat, it told us those seats were released, but when we have had to re-register the main user account multiple times, it still says we are using 2 of the 3 seats, not just the 1. While connected to the internet, we have hit refresh multiple times and it still does not update to 1, we even went online to SketchUcation and it listed 2 hardware Id’s still (2 seats) and manually we able to remove a couple of seats, but a couple of them still wouldn’t give us the option to do that. Is there a way to reset our seats used to just the one account that is currently “TRYING” to be activated and use them? Once again are we doing something wrong, or is there a bug somewhere?
We love the plug-ins and think they are a great value and definitely worth the purchase price for the bundle. Keep up the great work!
