So I'm home from work, not feeling real bad but very contagious. I start doodling in SU and look at my wrist watch. End of the day and then some more . . .

      Watch1 (800 x 613).jpg

      Watch2 (800 x 613).jpg

      Watch4 (600 x 460).jpg

      Model at: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=91f32787b009cd002331b5d5dd1cf817

I also used a spreadsheet to find that the exact moment when the hands are opposite each other in the traditional display position (usually referred to as 10:10) is 10:09:13.8461472.

Yes. I am compulsive. Yes I know.

Really nice model. Looks beautifully done. Sometimes a break from the routine can free up creativity. Thanks for sharing.

            Wow! That's amazing John.

I can still remember some of your early models. You've come a long way.

Thanks for the praise. It feels good!

Hank, Yes, it does have a curved crystal. Very tough to show in SU, but I may try to render it which should pick it up. The watch is a SNA-139 and I really like it. The only real flaw I see with it is that is that the dial for minutes when using the stopwatch is too small to read without taking off my glasses.

Dave, Boy are you right. I learned so much from your bureau tutorial. That was really the start from which I got SketchUp. Efficient modeling and small file size kinda goes out the window when trying something like this. I think the circle for the case has 360 sides (horror), but most everything is quartered and componented. If this were likely to be used as a component in another model, I'm sure I could make it smaller.

                  Again,

                    Exceptional work, John. Truely exceptional.
This proves what I tell so many people: when you work with SU you're actually working on your hobby. I know of very few other programs that are as powerful and veratile and fun and just plain addictive.
                    Again, beautiful work, John.

If you don't know where you're going, you're never going to get there.
