I've just downloaded soap, I knew about it but have never tried it. It looks great.
Thanks Mike.If you really want to build or specify a tensile canopy, the link is to a UK company that I've used, they will send out 3d dwgs but only if you are serious about purchasing.

How do you go about making the (edge) curves used to define the fabric?
My skin/fabric keeps violating the poles.

I just drew arcs and rotated them a little bit to "bend down" on one end then just copied the whole thing onto the other end.
Add the poles separately.
