Hi there. I'm new to this board but have been using SU for a couple years and need some help. I want to create this fabric saddle shaped roof (or one similar) for a project I'm doing. http://www.intents.be/images/SAF_1_iso.jpg

I think the sandbox tool would be handy here, but I'm new to the tool and having difficulty. Any ideas how to do this?
      Thanks!

Well, you can use the Sandbox tool (from contour) for this but the Soap skin and bubble plugin would be perfect for the job.
See example file in the WH:

Csaba, you beat me to it. I took the liberty of using your canopy as you did a better job than me.

Jon, I may have beaten you because I have not made the model perfect. Now this is nice!

Mike, thanks, I just forgot to insert the link.

This is one of the best plugins for SU I know. I dont really get to use it much but when I do it always makes me 😄

I've just downloaded soap, I knew about it but have never tried it. It looks great.
                        Thanks Mike.

If you really want to build or specify a tensile canopy, the link is to a UK company that I've used, they will send out 3d dwgs but only if you are serious about purchasing.

                            Amazing.....thanks for the model.
How do you go about making the (edge) curves used to define the fabric?
My skin/fabric keeps violating the poles.
                            Thanks,
                            Glenn

                              Glenn,

I just drew arcs and rotated them a little bit to "bend down" on one end then just copied the whole thing onto the other end.
                              Add the poles separately.
